Description
This took way to long to make... But I'm happy with the results. Ponies represented from left to right: SunBite, BloodMoon, Ender, NiteFall, and Gears.

"Everyone comfortable?" Ender asked the 4 ponies who surround her. 2 bat ponies, one Pegasus, and a robotic earth pony. They all rested upon a large and soft cloud in still night. It was past midnight and the moon was full and bright.

"Oh yes, Ender, I can tell my brother is getting quite comfortable himself," BloodMoon stated looking at his younger brother who was in the middle of yawning.

"Vhat? I'm not tired... It'z juzt late," SunBite whimpered, trying to keep his eyes open.

Ender turned to her left where the dark grey Pegasus stared at them with a blank look on her face. "You NiteFall?"

He nodded, assuring he was cozy between the dark clouds. This was the first night in almost a year where Princess Luna gave him the night off to be with his friends.

Ender looked at the pony with metal for fur and a mane, and a golden gear for a heart. He was looking straight down, both amazed an terrified by the fact that they were hundreds of feet off of the ground.

"A-are you sure I won't fall?" Gears asked in between clicks and whirs.

Ender smiled. "I am sure! I got the floating spell from Celestia herself! You won't fall off of this cloud unless you step off. And if you did fall, NiteFall will catch you himself." NiteFall looked at Ender with an empty stare. Ender stuck her tongue out playfully and winked. The pony who didn't know he was a robot looked down once more. Ender saw his robotic eyes zooming in on the ground for the iris grew and the pupil shrank. "I estimate we are almost 650 feet off of the surface," Gears said.

"Good guess..." NiteFall said lowly, calmly, and without emotion. That was his happy voice. Some ponies think he's related to the Pie's, specifically Maud Pie.

"Vell, vhat did you vant to show uz, Prinzezz?" SunBite said.

Ender's horn began to glow a purple aura before the cloud began to move. "Hold on!" It moved higher and higher above the ground, and meanwhile, Gears was calculating how much higher they were getting. "700...750...800! Ender if we get any higher than this then we might-! 1000 feet!" Ender stopped right at thousand and the cloud stopped with a jolt! It was so sudden, SunBite flew off of the cloud.

BloodMoon looked down in fear before calming himself while SunBite flew back on the cloud. BloodMoon placed a wing over his brother before letting go. Then the bat brothers gave Ender a death stare. "What? I said hold on, didn't I?" Ender said, avoiding their gaze.

"At least that woke him up," BloodMoon replied before SunBite began to yawn again.

"Well, what's so special that you had to drag us all out here to see," Gears joked.

"This..." Ender said before her horn began to glow again. All of Canterlot was dark but then something began to bloom a soft light. It was light blue and beautiful, then there was another but light green. Beautiful lights were blooming all over the city in different colors. From red to cyan, and from yellow to violet. The ponies watched with open jaws, with the exception of NiteFall, but he did smile a bit.

"Amazing!" BloodMoon said.

"Ziz iz ze mozt beautiful zing I 'ave ever zeen!" SunBite said.

"Wow..." NiteFall said toneless.

"What are they?!" Gears asked.

"I have no idea!" Ender said proudly. All 4 ponies looked at her for a spilt second before looking back at the lights. "But I'll tell you what I know. I found out almost 300 years ago that these lights represent the hearts of ponies and the brighter they are, the stronger they are. Each color is different is some way, and they represent a different pony. Unfortunately, only a few bloom every hundred years or so, and it requires the power or an alicorn to ignite them. I don't really know what they are, but I know they are special."

Gears looked down and smiled greatly, "That's amazing!"

BloodMoon nodded, "I agree, very amazing. But, do you think we can find ours, Ender?"

Ender shrugged, "The chances aren't very high, but there is always a possibility. According to records, only about 250 of these lights glow every couple hundred years, and there are thousands of citizens of Equestria, so who knows."

"Hey look... I think I found Fluttershy's..." NiteFall said calmly.

Ender, Gears, BloodMoon, and SunBite look down to where NiteFall points and they see a yellow light with a tint of pink. It was huge and glowing proudly. "Well, the Elements wouldn't be hard to miss, or the royals, in that matter," Ender said.

"If these lights are so rare, then why aren't ponies staying up to see them?" NiteFall asked.

Ender turned to the dark grey Pegasus with a sad look on her face. "Because... ponies say this phenomenon brings death..."

"What!?" Gears shouted. NiteFall didn't care.

"But it's not true!" Ender defended, "NiteFall, everypony! These lights, or whatever they are, are rumored to be a curse. For who ever lays eyes on the forsaken lights, their life will leave when the lights do, during the next sunrise. But that's not true! I saw these lights with my father a long time ago when I was a filly. I might have not remembered it very clearly, but I do remember my father telling me that although beautiful things are usually there to hide something evil, sometimes, beauty is there to show the world's perfection and purity. I believed him and I still do. If my father were here, then he would tell you all the same thing. These light's are not a curse or a death omen because look at me now. I'm alright, I'm fine, I'm a freaking alicorn! I would never you guys in danger. Never! I love you guys!" Ender smiled at the last point, trying to lift up the mood.

"Oh do you now?" BloodMoon said, closing in on Ender, wiggling his eyebrows.

"Can it, BloodMoon!" NiteFall almost shouted. BloodMoon laughed, shook his head, and backed away from Ender. She smiled, she knew BloodMoon wanted a marefriend for a long time, and he once asked Celestia out on a date, before getting attacked by Sombra. She laughed on the inside remembering being there to witness it all, yet no one knew she was there. She was hiding in the dark corner, on the roof. BloodMoon would never ask Ender though, that would be weird. He just fools around with her sometimes. Gears then began to realize something.

"But weren't you a unicorn when you were a filly?" Gears asked.

Ender's smile dropped and her heart skipped a beat remembering her past. Gears realized his mistake and put his head down, looking at the lights. It was silent for a while.

"Hey check it out! Is something wrong with that light?" BloodMoon said.

Ender followed his gaze and saw the abnormal light. It was not a sphere or blossom like the others, it constantly changed shape, size, and color, bumping into the other occasionally. Ender smiled again and shook her head, "Nah, that light is fine."

"Really?" NiteFall said. Ender nodded. "Then who's is it?"

"Discord's," Gears finished, his eyes changing color from a blue to green. He was scanning the lights now, Ender knew. "There's Fancy Pants', Scootaloo's, SkyFaller's, Romance's, Big Mac's, Snoopy's, Mrs. Cake's, BlueBell's, Jinx's, MouseShield's, Sombra's, Spiral Swirl's, Royal Guard Number 682's, Medicine Arrow's, Flurry Heart's, Asgardian Mischief's, and even yours NiteFall!" Gears said happily.

NiteFall rose a eyebrow and looked down and saw the dark grey, almost invisible in the dark, light. "How do you know all of these?" NiteFall asked, immediately regretting it.

"I don't know, the colors?" Gears responded looking straight down.

"Hey, at least now, we know your heart matched you soul. Dark, invisible, and very, very strong!" Ender said to the Pegasus.

"Shh..." BloodMoon hushed. The ponies looked over to BloodMoon to reveal SunBite sleeping soundly on the cloud. He was snoring sweetly and smiling. Having a happy dream, Luna you do good in this world.

"That's something you don't see every day, a Bat Pony who sleeps at night." Gears chirped.

"Is he diurnal?" NiteFall asked.

"Sort of. But I love him whether he was diurnal or nocturnal or no-turnal," BloodMoon said nuzzling his baby brother's mane.

"Should we bring him home?" Ender asked.

"Are you insane! Father will kill him!" he said in a panic, but then more calmly, "Besides, he's bound to wake up soon, he always does. He would hate to miss this."

The ponies sat on the cloud watching the lights shimmer and glow. It was still late and Celestia wouldn't have to raise the sun for a long time. That left them alone watching the beautiful show of glistening hearts of strong ponies swaying back and forth ever so slightly. Ender extended her bat wings and wrapped them around her friends not wanted to let go or let them leave. She wishes she can spend her life with her friends, (or her oc's) and make sure they always stay safe. If only life were perfect.

But right now surrounded by the ponies she loved most in the world and by the light's of the other ponies that she loved most in the world, Ender could feel it, life was perfect.
