Really cool! Realism note - suppressors are designed to mitigate muzzle flash/sparks. That sniper rifle wouldn't produce a muzzle flash, rather a large expulsion of gas.

Thanks! When I first designed it I chose a much more subdued muzzle flash for the suppressor, but didn't think it was dramatic enough. I appreciate you pointing this out because it's a good reminder that you can't sacrifice realism in these types of cases.Β

I second on the suppressor note, there primary function is to reduce/eliminate muzzle flash, usually all that is seen is some gas (steam like) and heat distortion. Also most large caliber (.50 cal) also have side venting like a muzzle brake to help reduce recoil (www.eurooptic.com/images-cache⦠).
An additional benefit of suppressor is sound reduction, but with large caliber weapons (and surprising large number of smaller calibers) it would still be so loud that it would require hearing protection. More benefits are; bullet velocity increase and decrease side concussive blasts (good for CQB).
Also notice a lack of brass casings, would be a nice touch.

Thanks! Been trying to tweak a texture design for awhile to look ok without having to use a volume scatter set up.
