Part of an art trade for Niksync on tumblr! I offered to commission but she preferred the trade, and this was what came out of it.
This is Cole, a character in a game Nicky's making. He uses paint-magic to create snow and ice, and when he uses the magic, his cape lights up with glittery lights.

All up I ended up loading about 12 hours into this, and a lot of that is to do with the fur. Compare that to things done even only last year, where a furred painting would take 6 hours. But it would also look chunky (and gross, now that I look at it), and it's just generally, well. Old! In fact the last painted furred piece was 8 months ago and I don't like it at all.
I feel like this is a milestone piece. A lot of the improvement is thanks to watching Shadow-Wolf 's streams, and also spreading out and following a whole bunch of new people with all sorts of specialisations in their art that I can draw inspiration and learning from. And the rest was my very desparate want to improve, because I did not like where I was at with my art. I might not be where I want to be yet, but I'm getting there, slowly.
