Description  Inspiration:
"Where dark woods hide secrets and mountains are fierce and bold
Deep waters hold reflections of times lost long ago
I will hear their every story, take hold of my own dream
Be as strong as the seas are stormy, and proud as an eagle's scream

I will ride, I will fly, chase the wind and touch the sky
I will fly, chase the wind and touch the sky"
— Touch the Sky by Julie Fowlis

 Comments:
This is a remake of my girl Arito. She's of Irish decent, very spirited and slightly proud. Really happy with the feel and how this came out! I'd love any and all feedback/tips/and CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. Please view in full size.

the hair is absolutely gorgeous!! What are your tools?

I notice the horse seems to float on the surface rather than look to be apart of the image. This is an easy fix! If you use any of the CS programs I think, there's a brush just for grass that you can use instead of just erasing in a solid line! Quick fix! The markings and hair are just breathtaking, great work!

Aw thank you so much!! I use PhotoShop, 4 or 6 depending on where I am. Everyone keeps saying I need to make a tutorial.. hopefully I'll have time to one of these days! Basically I start the darkest color with a hard brush, usually about 9 px and form the shape and then go over it with about 4-5 colors getting progressively lighter to define all the highlights and then add in white/black hightlights/shadows at the end!

And thank you so much for the helpful comment! I took your advise and just uploaded a slightly edited version where I gave it a more grassy feel around her legs. Let me know what you think. Gotta love missing the simple things in editing haha.
