Somewhere in the middle of the night at a Pokecenter Dawn wakes up cause she had bad Nightmare...
Dawn: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! don't leave me...
Ash wakes up cause of this heartbreaking scream looks in direction of Dawns bed and sees her crying. Then he gets over to her.
Ash: What is it, why are you crying and screaming so loud. No one can sleep like that. Well besides of Brock in his girl dreams.
Brock: Oh Joy and you to Rocky oh wonderful you finally returns my love...
Dawn stopped whining and stutters.
Dawn: Ash... I had a bad nightmare.
Ash: What were you dreaming about.
Dawn silences and hesitates to talk but then he gets a grip.
Dawn: I... I dreamed you will leave me all alone in the dark and heading to unknown places without saying goodbye or at least look back. You just vanished in the night.
Ash hugs her and says: Don't worry this won't ever be happen, it was just a bad dream. Even if I head in a different place than you I would say at least goodbye to you...
Dawn: Oh Ash, thank you.

She catchs him in DP084 as Swinub
Swinub evolves to Piloswine in DP104 (episode with Β Darkrai)
Piloswine start to disobey her (Like Ash's Charizard) and later he evolves to Mamoswine in DP106
Dawn win the fourth ribbon, and Mamoswine still desobey her.
Mamoswine start to obey Dawn in DP119.
