See this dialogue, right after the Piloswine pushes her and the Piplup into the water. Dawn starts to cry. Ash and Pikachu go to help.
Ash: Dawn, are you okay?
Pikachu: Pikaka! Pi-Kachu!
Dawn: I'm not a okay!
Ash: But is just a water.
Dawn: That's not the problem, Ash! After Swinub evolved, he became very disobedient, and it treated me with hostility. I can not control it! I'm useless! (She cries louder)
Ash: I understand you. I've had trouble with a rebellious Pokemon when it evolved. He was Charmander, he had become my best friend besides Pikachu. But then he evolved into Charmeleon and stopped obeying me. And when it evolved into Charizard it only got worse. Every time I asked Charizard for something, he would answer me with flames. Is that even Brock's Croagunk does attack him when he flirts with girls.
Brock: I heard this! (Croagunk jabs Brock and he fails in the water) Serious?!
Ash: Dawn, pokémons usually change the personality a bit when they evolve. To this day, I feel Charizard's burns. But they never forget their trainer, soon Piloswine will listen to you.
Dawn: Really?
Ash: Really. Now give me your hand. (Ash pulls Dawn out of the water). Training a disobedient pokémon is never easy. But it's never impossible, either. (Dawn tries to dry her tears, and she already gives a smile)
Dawn: Thank you, Ash. (Team Rocket hears that.)
Jessie: The friendship of these twerps is so beautiful.
James: Sure enough, it made me even cry!
Meowth: Meowth: Touching, but we have to get their Pokémon.

Yeah, I'm brazilian. I usually watch Chaves, El Chavo del Ocho, a Mexican television series of the genre comedy and children. In one episode, Chaves calls Don Ramon (Seu Madruga) as "Burro a Pão de Ló" And "Pão de Ló" means Loaf of bread or Sponge Cake. Team Rocket have a Sponge Cake, so...I just made a refference.
