So! This is my ref sheet for my most recent Journey OC, Rhythm. You have no idea how obsessed I am with her.
As you can see, I have abandoned the usual look for the wayfarers I usually do, she looks a bit more human, but don't misunderstand, she is NOT human. Her mask is made of pure gold, and glimmers in the desert sun. She has defined feet at the end of her slender legs, also the color of gold cloth. (but not literally made of gold, only the mask) She has arms with three fingered hands. Her ability in the world of Journey, more or less, what she was fated to do, is cast off the souls from the mountain to start their Journey over and to be reborn. She often dwells in the light beyond the mountain for this reason, and speaks to the wayfarer souls, listening to their stories of heartache, and companionship. She often leaves the mountain her self, she is known to seek adventure when the opportunity arises. She mostly wanders the desert alone, unwilling to disturb a wayfarers trek to the mountain. When wayfarers are cast from the mountain to start over, they do not remember her until they enter the light again, and to speak with her once more. It's awkward and uncomfortable for her, so she can often portray a sense of antisocial personalities. (just as an example so you can understand how she feels around wayfarers: Imagine you knew someone you liked. You talk to them and get to know them. But then, they may turn into a comforting animal such as a dog or a cat. You open up to your newly trance formed friend and pet them and all the walls fall down. But than they change back, and they don't remember a thing.)
In the desert, she needs a fast way to move around. As you can see, she has no scarf. She is able to compensate for not having this appendage and gives her more freedom and room to be graceful. Though she cannot fly, she is able to jump very far and very high, almost like a no gravity affect. She often likes to be up high and on the edges of things, and is very beautiful and pure by her own rights. Her beauty can dazzle many, but she never much cares for what others think of her. She is constantly connected to the mountain in a way no one can understand ( even she isn't sure) And can vanish and appear within the divine light of the mountain to cast off a soul that is ready to leave the light. But she can ONLY trance port to the mountain.
Rhythm's symbol was made by her graceful hands. No one is sure how she was able to do such a thing, but she claims it has this meaning; "To sleep in the flowing valley of song." The chirp is high powered and bright, the symbol being the brightest part at it's center, is almost too bright to see within a given chirp. My wayfarers have given to calling her just a legend, but all of that is dashed when their memories return when they are bathed in the mountains white light.
