With MLP: G5 just days away from premiering (and not looking too promising), I thought it only appropriate to give my thoughts on which episodes of its revolutionary predecessor stood out the most - credit for the meme goes to .

Favorite Episode: A Health of Information
It just goes to show how much Fluttershy had grown up to that point - both her kindness and assertiveness were at their peak performance here.

Least Favorite Episode: A Trivial Pursuit
This abysmal episode marked the point at which I lost all respect for Twilight - you'd think even she wouldn't obsess so much over winning a stupid trivia game! And even though the next episode made it out that she'd "finally learned her lesson", it still felt too little too late.

Most Okay Episode: Filli Vanilli
Yes, it does feel like a formulaic "Fluttershy faces her fears" episode here and there; but then again, would you have expected the Fluttershy of Season 1 to host a town event, or slowly begin to enjoy singing onstage? My only major beef with it is Pinkie's insufferability - but was that really worth sending Amy Keating Rogers death threats over?

Most Forgettable Episode: Slice of Life
Fanservice at its most shameless, folks.

Favorite Episode Focused on My Favorite of the Mane 6: A Health of Information
Once again, it proves just how much Fluttershy deserves her Element, and how far she's come.

Favorite Spike Episode: Gauntlet of Fire
It not only rights the wrongs done by "Dragon Quest", but also introduces a great new character in the form of Princess/Dragon Lord Ember.

Favorite CMC Episode: The Fault in Our Cutie Marks
Gabby is cutest griffon. Nuff said.

Guilty Pleasure Episode: The Last Roundup
Looking back, the pacing in this ep leaves a lot to be desired, and the comedy comes off as borderline cruel in places. Nevertheless, I'm sure a lot of people can relate to Applejack's fear of letting her loved ones down, and Pinkie's babbling about "chimicherrychangas" was pretty funny.

Episode I Hate That Everyone Else Seems to Love: Between Dark and Dawn
The A-plot was basically a rehash of "A Royal Problem", only Celestia and Luna were portrayed a lot less sympathetically; the B-plot was more of Twilight's post-Season 8 character derailment, and further proof of her unfitness to rule Equestria.

Episode I Love That Everyone Else Seems to Hate: Flutter Brutter
At first glance, Zephyr did just feel like a negative stereotype of millennials; but at the same time, I think his hidden fear of failure carries a lot of resonance among young adults trying to make it in this big, crazy world of ours. Apart from that, who knew Fluttershy could be so snarky?

Episode That Everyone Else Loves, But I Just Find Okay: The Best Night Ever
The plot gets a bit too crazy here and there, but it's not terrible.

Episode I Didn't Like, But Grew to Like When I Watched it Again: Dragonshy
Fluttershy's excessive cowardice got pretty tedious pretty fast; but I think it helps to remember that this was an earlier ep, and that it paved the way for greater things for her down the line. Plus, seeing her finally stand up to the dragon was nothing short of satisfying.

Favorite Premiere: The Return of Harmony
What can I say? Our heroines' friendship is put to the ultimate test, Discord is introduced, and there's some subtle foreshadowing to Fluttershy's role in reforming him.

Least Favorite Premiere: The Crystalling
It really didn't have much of a plot - thank Celestia that future episodes did Flurry Heart (best princess, BTW) some justice.

Favorite Finale: Shadow Play
What an amazing way to tie up loose ends about some of Equestria's legends - not only that, but Stygian had one of the best backstories and redemptions of any villain in the whole series!

Least Favorite Finale: The Ending of the End
So "Grogar" was really Discord this whole time?! What an absolute letdown!
