Concept work for an idea called 'Warp' that came to me a couple of months ago.It's about a shrine maiden (kinda) bat and a big 'ol crow (sort of) who is always by her side. Mostly waiting for her to die.
..well it's slightly more complicated than that, but, there you go.

Beautiful cut out style. The shapes are very fun and dynamic and look like they would translate well into an animated character. I know artists generally don't like "oh that looks like ____" But I find a hint of Don Bluth in the characters and mood of the environments and I mean that as a complement ^_^

The last color picture of the bat looked different enough that I thought it was a different character. I think it was the size of the pupils and the difference in tone (frightened instead of brave), compared to the other shots.
