if one of the animators for the anime makes a doujinshi, does that make it canon?

Well actually, even the director of the Last Party movie stated that for Date Masamune, the most important person is Sanada Yukimura. And the animators all called their battle scene a "love scene." So...., yeah. XD The creators definitely think those two are in love. Here: [link]
