Description
The story…

In the beginning, there will be a pan across a wall with pictures of the old man’s younger days posted up on it. These pictures will show him as the adventurer that he was back in the day, and they will also show him meeting up with his pet piranha. The old man wakes up to the sound of birds chirping, and dogs barking. He goes downstairs to discover his empty prescription bottle, and decides to go to the medical building to get a refill. The doorbell rings, and he answers the door to find 3 girlscouts selling cookies. He is annoyed by their presence, and his eyebrow twitches, with the result of the girls blowing away.

On his way out of the house, he sees some kids playing ball across the street. The ball lands on his lawn, and when the kid seeks to retrieve it, the ball is suddenly struck by lightning.

On his way to the medical building, there is a “valley girl” behind him on her cell phone, driving a hummer. Aparrently, he isn’t going fast enough for her, so she lays on her horn. He looks in the rearview mirror, and a fissure forms underneath her car… there is a shot here of the hummer falling down the hole, with the Doppler effect playing on it’s horn as it falls into the seemingly endless hole.

The next part of the short is him actually picking up his pills at the medical center. He encounters the girlscouts that he blew away inside the center. The clerk inside is a jerk, and his HMO does not cover refills on the drug that he needs, so he gets angry and storms out. While he is walking down the path back to his car, a tornado funnel forms, and rips through the building. This is the EUREKA moment… when he finally realizes that he has powers. There could be a montage here of what has happened so far in the short, and he decides to go and take revenge on the suburb that he lives in.

The last scene is him going crazy inside the neighborhood, causing a volcano to form. The last shot of the movie is the burning birds nest that contained the birds that woke him up in the first place… the nest falls on his face, and singes his eyebrow off, thus causing him to lose his power.
