Description Tomorrow my high-school years will be over, once and for all. I have some work until then though, but there were a number of drawings lying about in my folders, that i got bored of halfway through, or didn't think they were good enough to publish, perhaps i didn't even start to color them.
Anyway, there are some book-characters, game fanart, and other stuff, i'll make an incomplete list of them here:
Top left corner: "Gregor or Grigor, the big burly fellow with the fuzziest beard you've ever seen" drinking the other wardens under the table (Dragon Age - Origins, Alistair tells you about him)
Right to that: Zevran, and whatshername Mahariel - i must admit, it was an old request, that i lost somewhere in my notes, and probably deleted accidentally, so i have no idea, who asked me to do it, but if the person recognizes their character, i'd happily color the picture for them.
Top right corner: just something to pass the time.
Second row: Oberyn Martell from the Song of Ice and Fire series, written by George. R. R. Martin.
- These three were drawn by me while i was illustrating the Mists of Avalon book. There are some priestesses of Avalon, and i think the other two elf-like beings are some of the ancient people.
- I don't really know about this one. She just came to be.
- A depiction of Lorelei.
Third row: the guy and the girl were created for fun, sort of an experiment with combinations of hair- and eye color.
- The next two are some personal stuff as well.
Fourth row: Princess Aurora by her spinning wheel.
- G. R. R. Martin's Cersei Lannister.
- A Goddess of Moon, also for the Avalon illustrations, it wasn't used either. Ne antlered Cernunnnos is similar.
- The one above Cernunnos is Monia, my nord character in Skyrim.
Fifth row: Martin's Rhaegar Targaryen and Jon Connington.
- Another unused request sketch.
Sixth row: Solonariwan Tofusin, Dorian Ursuul, and Lantano Garuwashi from Brent Weeks' Night Angel trilogy.
- Tempi from Patrick Rothfuss' Kingkiller Chronicles.
Seventh row: Bast from Patrick Rothfuss' Kingkiller Chronicles.
- Another Sleeping Beauty.
Eighth row: Morgaine for fun, but i think it turned out to be horrible.
- Silvia Shepard in this character challenge: [link]
Ninth row: unfinished idon'tevenknowwhos.
- Lancelot
- a plan for my lithography work. So is the one in the bottom left corner.
The last picture's showing Hugin and Munin.

Pretty good art,Β kind of like a cross between Andy KubertΒ & Animay style. Not too shabby.

The male version of your Shepard reminds me a bit of David, from Prometheus; the same sort of sleek, blond, sci-fi look.

Uhh I love it so much! I'm sorry, I hope I'm not annoying, sometimes I think I babble so much and sound bad, and I also hope I'm not too annoying with praise... I don't critique and I know artists love constructive comments, but I'm no pro and I view pictures more like an admirer and and they fill me with so much joy so I put all the joy on the poor artist's head and oh well
Your variety of styles is so inspiring. I think unfinished colouring and white parts even add some charm to the drawings! And some give insights on how you work, it's great to see, too! The character meme is so funny, I think the eagle fits Silvia, and gingerbread man oh my who came up with that So much fun! The ravens look so real, and thanks to Thor and Avengers I have feels for them *sob*. You keep inspiring me to illustrate books! Recently I read a very good one and I want to illustrate it so badly. I'll try to be brave like you!

Ooh if i ask you nicely, could you tell me about your book? I'm constantly on the hunt for great books and now i'm a bit grounded... I just can't go over Lord of the Rings again (mostly because my new volume contains the whole trilogy and its font is so tiny, that after some time, i feel like my eyes are popping out...).
Ah, and i don't even know about the gingerbread man...
I'll keep collecting my unfinished works, i found that it relieves me, when i dump them all together in here... Until then they're just lingering on the edge of existence and nonentity, haunting me in my empty moments: "finish us, you don't have anything to do anyway, and we're here, occupying valuable space on your drivers...!" It feels good to throw them together and be free of the thought, that they're incomplete

I'm so sorry it took me so long to reply! Whenever stuff start to happen in my life, the first thing that suffers is my art and my DA page I'm so slow to improve and to draw at all and I reply for ages, I feel ashamed for both things, so much
I feel so proud that you want to know about my book. I feel like this book is the best thing that ever happened to me in my life. Right now, I've started rewriting it for the last time, because I'm completely satisfied with the plot and themes, finally. It was years of experiences and hard work that finally shaped it into the thing I love completely, and I'm soo happy that I never quit. I have this feeling that you are a great book lover, and you have a great taste in books, so I'm very honored that you asked me. I wish I could give it for you to read when I finish, because I'm sure you would have many good advices for me, and I'd love to know your opinion so much, but sigh! When I finish it, it will only be in Russian, I'm not good enough to translate. This makes me very sad. Unless I become a super novelist translated into many languages I wish my DA friends who support me a lot with this project could read it in the end but alas I'm sorry, I tried to write several sentences about my book, but they all turned into essays that eventually told nothing. It's so hard to explain it, and it's a bad thing, because books must be explained simply, or they are not clear enough, I think
I have Lotr trilogy in one book, too, but it's even smaller than one Asoiaf's two-in-one that I have! I wonder if they cut something, because it seems too small. And it's such a shame about small font! I know that feeling for the eyes, it's terrible

And it's really great to see them, even unfinished they are really inspiring and motivating! Thank you so much for sharing them!

Thanks! And there's no secret behind the eyes actually I just pick the brightest colors, and then i add some glint in the end

Esperta In reply to Enife [2012-07-08 11:26:15 +0000 UTC]

ah, I see what you mean. And it also seems that you add a lot of black or dark colours around the eyes to make them pop out. I think I'm gonna practice

I thought I would find some Game of Thrones in here! I adore your style as always.
I actually watched the series, and am reading it now, I LOVE IT
Thanks for reccommending it to me ~

Do you prefer Hobb or Martin?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Enife In reply to PixieSabre [2012-06-26 15:06:24 +0000 UTC]

I'm glad, you like them!
And i prefer Hobb, because Martin's style is a bit more like a screenplay, and after the third book i started to get a bit tired of the various sex-scenes, written in that plain manner. They are still great, and the characters are fascinating
But Hobb is almost a belletrist, and i find her writings more enjoyable and pleasant to the eye

PixieSabre In reply to Enife [2012-06-26 17:32:50 +0000 UTC]

I've only just recently started reading Martin, not even on page 100 yet But I know his style is a bit more blunt than Hobbs. I love both stories, though I'm not sure that I will feel for any of Martin's characters more than I did the Fool.
