Description
I always depicted Zarbon as an enslaved character to Frieza. Why? No idea, must be that pretty face of his... hehehe~Anyways, I drew this awhile back, but decided to do a re-draw and change some things. Sorry for the absolutely terrible shading. I've been so tired and depressed lately that I just wanted to get it done. I may edit it later or on another day and re-upload it afterwards.

This is gonna sound weird, but I believe you!
I truly believe in my heart that Zarbon was a slave in some kind of form to Frieza. It doesn't matter what he looks like whether he is handsome or ugly.
What really made me draw that conclusion was that he seemed like he knew deep down inside that Frieza was a maniac, and yet he was scared to run away. If he's afraid to run away and disobey Frieza, then perhaps there was some reason.
It doesn't matter if he willfully joined, was forced to join, if he was or wasn't raised by Frieza himself, he realized in the end that Frieza did not have his best interest. Its sad when the only person you can depend on for survival wants you dead.
I don't believe Zarbon is a purely evil person. I just don't see him that way, I never had. Others can think that and that's fine with me.
I had my speculations about him at first of course, but his body language was too well drawn out enough for me to pick up on his fakeness of loving to see people suffer. Its almost like he was trying too hard to seem ruthless, but it never passed with me for some reason.
I have a lot of reason to believe that he despises Frieza, its as if Frieza must have treated him horribly.

That wasn't weird at all and I can't agree more with your opinion!
I just can't portray Zarbon as a ruthless villain, but more as a hopeless, fated servant. If I get too deep into these thoughts, it makes me love the character even more.
All in all, it makes me feel pitiful, like it could perhaps be the reality of his life. It makes one really wonder all that has happened to him and how he even came to be a slave to Frieza.
It puzzles me, but sparks my curiosity as well~
