...to draw the original characters of Invader Zim. Doing Invader Zim.. stuff! No funny twists!You're all too enthused by your fan-stories and fan characters!
Why not reminisce your early days of drawing Irken symbols in your school books and little Zim Vs. Dib scenerios?!I DARE YOU.
(Would be cool to see all the sub-styles of drawing in IZ style. It's fun to tell the difference between different fan-artists and how they draw the IZ style itself. Head shape is the big one. Compare people like *Zimadonna , =DeviantIrk , =YourDark3stNightmar3 , =0min0us or ~Invadertaj for example.)
Top two were digital editings, bottom two are purely traditional. Really old doodles I haven't submitted in ages, mind you. I haven't been slacking with BS, I tell ya! Yes, I drew 3 Zims and one Dib, for obvious reasons. Dib always looks weird with me =[ I find you're either a Dib person or a Zim one. Head shapes, eh.

I think I might be a GIR person. He's almost my favorite character just because I can draw him doing cool stuff, while Zim and Dib are trickier. After him, I'd say I'm beter at drawing Dib, since my Zim ends up looking kinda funny.
But the only character that I ever draw in a different style typically is GIR, since his design is a fun one to play with.

Both, really, although I'm good at different features on both of them. One of my favorite looks to draw GIR in is when he's in his costume with his hood down, because then you get both color schemes and the little antenna on his head. XD
I should take more advantage of the stretchy arms, I tend to mess up and draw them sticking straight out most of the time.

This is definately something I've noticed around this fandom! Too many people are too obsessed with their Irken characters. It makes me wonder if they even watch the show half the time, and just kind of learned of the style of Irkens and created their own. XD Too many people neglect the lovable Zimmy and Dib 
And I agree with you about Dib..whenever I attempt to draw him something looks just OFF. I can't seem to get him right 03o Only when I use a bunch of references will I manage to be happy with how it turns out XD
I draw OC's often enough, but Zim, Dib, and Gir dominate my notebooks most of the time XD

Yeah! Not that I can hinder anyone creativity, but it does appear a lot have lost the plot! Otherwise if it's got the original characters, it's probably a pairing

Aww! Thanks! Yeah, there needs to be more people who actually complete their art... I make backgrounds so much it's like a habit... I usually don't post a pic unless it has something as a background, even if it is just some polka dots or something. xD Wow.. you really have improved! And I will definately keep drawing... it's just so fun! I only wish my offline friends were a little more supportive.

..They're just a bunch of lazy buggers, if you ask me. Takes less energy to say one sentence than to work a pencil. I say, when an artist tells you to try, then try your best, because they know what they're doing, not those lazy people who haven't learned to even hold a pencil properly
And as for offline friends.... yes, I have them, yes they are totally discouraging, and yes I ignored them all

Yep. Most of my unsubmitted art is traditional, because I don't have access to my computer at five in the morning when I wake up.
xD I ignore my friends too, it's always 'That arm looks bad.' or 'Why are the antannae so long?' I don't really like explaining that the arm is just a couple of circles because I'm still sketching the pose, or that the antannae are supposed to be like that... and when I don't answer my friends just start getting mad at me.

Hmm, that is a possibility, I'll just tell him to stand on his toes from now on. ;D But that does make one a little unsteady, and with all those dishes on his head... *cringe* Maybe he should just invest in some platform shoes?

Haha, very true. My old traditional work... I look at it now and it's just horrible. but only a couple years ago it was my BEST art.
XDD yeah... everybody automatically thinks that when put down my pencil for a minuite the drawing I've been working on is officialy done.
My friends sure don't get it... but at leas my gdmother is really supportive. In much contrast to my neighbor, who likes to steal finished pages out of my sketchbook and tell her school friends she drew them. i really don't care about that because they never believe her, but it's annoying x.x
Of course, since their raking system is based off hight... Maybe Skoodge should have tried that, then he wouldn't have been shot out of a canon and replaced

A little did you know? fun facts: Lol the academy thing, I don't think it's my idea. I think it's been an old one, I think Zim did go to academy and/or military school. I just keep thinking it was canon because of the old transscripts that I've read, I think it was from The Trial. If not, then I am mistaken, beacuse I lost my sources and forgot so don't take my word for it. But yeah, Academy is like TTLY LIEK HIGHSCHOOL but prepatory school to learn the final test to take for the control brain to evaluate what you do in the work force. That or you get enlisted into the army, which he probably made a transfer to that school because he thought he could push his luck. lolol.

Well, actually, no, the top three where all just what I could do my best for IZ style, the bottommost was my severe hardest attempt to get it all curved and pointy like in IZ. Apologise though, I didn't intend mimicking your style!

Yes! It's the only drive they have left I think. Once they're over the best-enemies stage, they switch on to best-lovers, I noticed in a lot of people. It's a shame because this antagonism is the one I came to adore!

I have an entire drawer dedicated to doodles and random pics done over the years called The Zim Files. Most of my fandom experience was in canon and I drew much more of that during the first few years. But then I'd get bored of the same types of ideas and gradually became focused on fancharacters, especially during times I'm not in school. I seem to do more canon while in school (pry 'cause that's where I first drew IZ). I recently started a new canon story, not that I know where it'll go. So far, Zim's hanging on to some ledge and Dib's trying to save him. I don't know why yet.
Anyway, this is cute. ^^ Dib looks very serious. XD
