Had the song Independent Woman by Destiny's Child running through my head as I worked on this (not sure why though). . . hence the title.I never thought I'd say it, but the tablet is to die for. . . and not just for drawing, it makes shading so much easier. Then again, what wouldn't be easier than the damn touchpad that I'd been using for so long? Anyway, getting some more practice in with photoshop, and I hate to admit it but the program is not nearly as horrid as I had once claimed (um, guess I'm just lazy and stubborn about learning new things).
And yeah, I know. . . I need more practice with hands.

Even though this is now one of your older pieces I still really love it and in looking at the large image I was impressed by the subtle shades of purple and green of all things that are in the lenses of the glasses. Its those levels of details which give a painting real depth and allow the viewer to come back again and again.

I must be the odd man out, since I find I have much more control with my wireless optical mouse than I do with my tablet. In fact, I barely use the tablet at all except to sign my name

I feel the same way man. I took my tablet back to Best Buy. I'm planning on getting this neat little mouse that looks like a pen. Y'know how a ballpoint has that little ball in it (*facepalm* duhr, BALLpoint...)? Well someone had the cool idea of making a mini mouse roller ball and stickin it in there. It plugs in to the USB and, according to the site, is pressure sensitive. Only $20 too! Now, if I could just remember the name of it...

I haven't really used a mouse since I started doing all this digital artwork (my laptop doesn't have one). I'll be using a desktop soon so who knows, I might pick up the mouse again like when I used to do pixel art. I still have a thing for the touchpad for certain things though, probably because I've used it for so long. . . I'm *still* using it for doing the inks.
