It's really not worth explaining at this point but I will for the sake of informing you, so you don't feel like a "stupid potato".

Generally, vector artists (especially portrait artists) are considered to be "hacks" by more "serious" artists (usually traditional artists who don't know anything about digital art, let alone vector art). Most of my commercial portfolio consists of work created with vector programs (specifically Adobe Illustrator), you could even say I'm a "vector artist", although I try to produce work that is defined by style, not the medium or technique that I used to make it. For me to state "Vector art is for hacks. " would be contradictory to my actions, indicating that I'm either joking or actually trying to be a hack (which I'm not). Also notice the added wink , as to indicate the statement has subtext ie it's a joke and I'm not being serious.

I noticed the . Figured you were joking, but eventho my English is above average I thought I might be completely missing something.

It is sometimes hard to explain to non-artists (not that I consider myself an artist) that drawing on the computer is just as hard, if not harder as on paper. Some even think you get bits and bobs from images and construct drawings like that. To me it doesn't matter all that much if people think it isn't art. As long as I have fun.
