Description I remember playing MMX5 and the battle against Maverick Zero was just so damn epic. I know the game was done with nothing more than tiny sprites but to me it always looked this epic! I wanted to bring the dynamic movement that you would always see in the game. I like this pic because you can see the desperation in X's pose with Zero looming over him. This is my contribution to Megaman's 25th anniversary. It took about one hour to put together. Originally I was going to draw it, I actually made a tiny sketch of the scene before hand. Then I remembered that I had models for XNALARA. So I used XnaLara to pose the characters and Fireworks to add the desired effects. I like this image a lot because it reminds me of one of the most epic moments I've had in a video game. What's your favorite Megaman moment?

Sigma did an excellent job, forcing them to fight one another in X5. Luckily though neither of them succeeded in killing each other.

I've only played a Megaman game for one day in my life (and it wasn't X), but you know what sold this for me?

"I know the game was done with nothing more than tiny sprites but to me it always looked this epic!" I know this feel SO WELL. I can imagine what kind of experience you must've had here. This pic of yours is a symbol of that feeling - as well as the idea that a player's experience of the game is 50% the game itself and 50% the player's mind. (It's why I enjoy FF7 so much and can imbue the simplistic figures with my imagination and have fun exploring the world and watching the battle cinematics.)

Also, what did you think of the Megaman X Fanimation by Shane Newville - Monty Oum's right-hand man?

You are right the feeling is the same  I think that is why the old school games hold such a great place in our hearts.  If someone now was to play Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time after playing a new version, lets say Twilight HD.  I wouldn't be as special to them as it is to me.

I've seen that animation and it is fantastic using the models from X8.  I wish the action was that fast and involved in the actual Megaman games. It's just another persons interpretation of the battle between X and Zero and I love it.

Thank you for your kind words
