Wow, seriously one of the best pieces I've seen here on D.A, it's feel and color scheme are so fantastic! I really love it! I especially like the way you've effectively mirrored their poses and kind of melded their hands, it creates a sense of merging or oneness..

Wow o__o that's one great compliment! Haha, and yes, the idea of Kaye "meeting herself" came from my mentor on this project. I loved the idea and I wanted it to feel as if the faery-Kaye is inviting human-Kaye into her odd and dangerous world..

I had read Valiant and then tried to read Ironside, only to realize it was the sequel to Tithe which I had not read!
Valiant is just sort of stuck in there @ _ @;
Anyway, I've never seen fan art of this before, and I'm glad you were the one to do it because this style is just charming.

I like this one!
Changelings are faeries torned between the two worlds and the duality of their kin is very interesting to illustrate.
You did a great work in this!
I don't know if you are familiar with the "world of darkness": a roleplaying game universe created by White Wolf, and where all sort of supernatural creatures such werewolves, vampires or faeries coexist into our world.
One of the main books of their RPG series is named "Dark Ages: Faes" and is entirely about faeries: the firstborns, ancient oath and inanimae...

Oh yeah I know about world of darkness and I love it! I'm really interested in the Fae-book because I've only played Vampire the Masquerade before. Changelings inspire me a lot, my husband says he thinks I'm a troll changeling I choose to take that as a compliment.

Men are not at ease with compliments, but we try to do the best I guess ^^
(sure my girlfriend could tell a lot about this )
BTW, if you like changelings, maybe could you take a look on the works of Andy Hep, here on DA, who makes some illustrations for White Wolf (Changeling Dreamshaping for exampleβ¦)
