In July 1969 I was up all night to watch the first landing on the moon... At the time I was still living in my native Sardinia. The time between the very brief and scattered direct connection with the USA were filled by all kind of different segments, one of them was of a panel of scientist talking about the future, making predictions about what the world wold be in the year 2000. I remember, as if it were yesterday, of being very annoyed by it... who cares, I thought, in the year 2000 I will be old, senile, and decrepit! Perspective change and older is not old... 14 plus ears after, I refuse to consider myself old. After all the alternative to getting older is not a good one. This was about the title...
About the picture I do agree with you Evgeniya, I would not consider this one a "lovely"photo. This is a well composed, and framed portrait where nothing is casual: the hair, the ash on the cigarette, the down cast eyes, and the almost tight setting of the lips...Β all was meant to coveys a specific message, and, from my point of view it is just a splendid photo. I hope you are proud of it both as photographer and as model. Sorry about the long comment, I guess I really connected with this photograph.

Thank you for your long comment.. : ) "splendid photo" - I've never received such a description for any of my photos. Sounds nice : )
I wish I could have more long posts like yours in my gallery. It would mean that all of this matters. But after all, it is hard to create something which values to many people. We are such an individualists..Β
despite all this, I agree with you about the aging .. years mean experience, memories, changes.. or just a number.. We are just getting closer to death. And no bad feelings about it (neither enthusiasm).

Years ago I found a bumper sticker in a gas station that read "Live Long Enough to be a Problem for Your Children"... Probably not enthusiasms, determination perhaps? On the first part of your answer, I agree, we all are who we are, and we like what we like. I tend to be incrementally more verbal when I encounter something I really like. I thought that portrait was special, in my book special indeed. I do enjoy your gallery as a whole... You are an artist in a way I can relate to! I promise I shall not be as long winded in making remarks on all your work... I rather you produce more than spend you your time in reading my ramblings. I just want to add, and meaning it, that I am very happy I became familiar with your work! Thanks π
PS: as long as it matters to you plus one other... It matters!!! To me it doesβ¨πβ¨
