Meet Tafari and his eventual mate Asha.

You guys met Tafari in this piece here -> The King's Council where I introduced him as Mohatu's childhood friend. Being the son of the Fastest in the Lion Guard, Tafari is undoubtedly the fastest lion of his generation. However, instead of following his father into the Lion Guard, Tafari is selected to be part of Mohatu's personal advisory Council along with their other friend Mosi. Tafari forms a close bond of friendship with Princess Kamaria when she arrives from the Grasslands. He will support her in getting Mohatu's attention and often chastises his friend for being a grumpy pain in the butt.

Asha ("new") is a lioness from the Pridelands. She is attractive and sensual and she knows it, being the most desired lioness in the pride. As an adolescent, she, along with practically every other lioness, will try and woo Mohatu only to be rebuffed. Taking the rejection in stride, Asha will instead befriend newly arrived Princess Kamaria who is completely at odds with the fact that her would-be mate won't even look her in the eye. Asha will take Kamaria under her wing and help her navigate a new pride with unknown courtship rituals. She is incredibly protective of Kamaria and will often defend her from other jealous lionesses who isolate her for "getting with their Prince."

When Tafari would approach her for help with his friend, she will jump at the chance to help her protege finally connect with the grumpy Prince. Along the way, Asha will fall for Tafari, and the two will end up in a whirlwind romance fit for the hopeless romantic he is. When Kamaria and Mohatu finally become King and Queen, Asha will remain Kamaria's closest confidant. With Tafari, she will eventually bear a daughter, Rena.

Asha's design was given to me back in 2014 by -WildFire- on animationsource. Back then, I used her design for Sarafina's mother Rena, but with my refurbished story, I decided to use this design instead for Asha. I feel like it fits much better now.

These two are practically the progenitors of Nala's line, being her great-grandparents. I am happy that it also fits in with the rest of the family tree as in my universe, Tiifu is the daughter of Mheetu.

Tried to also do something different with the background this time. Feedback on that is appreciated.
