Description I decided to do a really quick drawing after this rather interesting dream I had...This guy was pretty much the main character in a very vivid and surprisingly coherent story, and I just really wanted to draw him. Might as well tell you guys what exactly the dream was...It was also one of those dreams where you are the character, but at the same time, you're sort of watching them. So you know their thoughts and memories, and you can control their actions and for all intensive purposes are that character, but you're also aware of everything else going on around them that they might not necessarily see.

He had really dark, kinda unruly hair, but there was a stripe of hair on the top of his head that was like...a different texture, almost. He was kind of inspecting it in the mirror (which is how I know for sure what he looked like), because it was something new. Apparently, he was starting to show signs of being something or other, something to do with his bloodline. His mother was the one who sorta told him this, I remember, as she sorta came into the room...Both she and the boy (he looked kinda young...somewhere in his teens, maybe?) looked kinda asian. I also remember the world 'immortal' being mentioned, at one point during the conversation. Another thing about the boy was that he had really interesting eyes. The whites were all black, and the irises were red, and didn't have pupils. They kinda faded into the black, too, and had this almost glowy quality. I remember those eyes pretty darn clearly...heh...But then something happened, and the details are kinda foggy here, but it did involve him being separated from his mother. This whole setting was very...old-world. Like...ancient Rome, or Greece or something...I don't quite remember if the mother came, either bringing or having her son in this new place, or if the boy was brought to this place alone, and the mother stayed behind in whatever land they were originally from. That info is a bit...hazy...But either way, apparently the boy was part of the servant/slave class (not by choice, of course), and had been grouped with a bunch of other people and brought through these big wooden gates, though they only opened a narrow bit, so people had to go through single-file. I remember he kept his eyes down a lot, though I still sorta knew what was going on. There was a lot of white and grey stone in the next area...the sky was kind of a grey-blue, cloudy color, too...overcast and stuff...There were other people there, like rich people, and people dressed in armor/uniforms - they were the buyers, and there was also a big, rectangular stone platform, as well, though it wasn't all that high. I remember the boy was wearing kinda simple clothing, kinda faded, kind of a faint brown or gray color, and I also remember there being something around his neck, as well. The person in charge of selling/hiring out people said some stuff about different people in the group, like what they might be good for and all that...I remember he mentioned that the boy would probably be a nice addition as a household servant or somesuch, because he had softer, 'pretty' features, in addition to being considered 'exotic', as opposed to the more European look that everyone else had. In the end, the boy ended up going with a man who was dressed in what looked very much like Roman armor, though whether or not he was the actual buyer or just his/her representative, I'm not sure. Everything's very vague after that, 'cause I kinda started slowly waking up...heh...

So yeah...I don't know what his name is, or what happens to him next, or what exactly his strange ancestry is, but I'm thinking I might make this guy into an official character of mine...^_^ And since he doesn't have a name yet, I'm open to any suggestions people might have. Or perhaps he will just remain nameless?

And a funny little side-note: the next time I turned on the television, lo and behold, it was a documentary show on Romans, gladiators, etc...

What a cool character! I actually really like the rough, sketchy feel to the picture, too.
And I LOVE hearing people's dreams! The way people tell their dreams - it's like their describing something that actually happened that they witnessed, and it's always so original and interesting! It's so much more real-feeling than when people make up stories and write them. Do you get what I'm saying?

Yeah...That's why I love it so much when I remember my dreams, because they're always so interesting...I think I dream of random people and places and things more often than I dream of myself or people I recognize...Heck, I've met some of my OC's in dreams, before, which was rather cool...and some OC's have been inspired by dreams. Heh...I should try drawing dream-based characters and creatures more often, as they're often rather interesting...

Ahh yes, dreams are the best! I hardly ever remember my dreams. I don't even think I dream anymore :/
(Well, I know everyone dreams, but I don't ever recall even waking up and being like "what a cool dream!")

I think there's a mental exercise or something that some people do in order to remember their dreams better...I can't quite remember what it is right now, though. I'd have to go and look it up...
