(Time for another SCP-inspired Subject entry! Prompt used was "Reptile/Dragon.")

BA-XX63

This anomaly was retrieved from a ruin in rural Slovenia, where it was responsible for a number of domestic animal disappearances in the surrounding region. While it was initially hostile during first contact and its subsequent capture, it has since adjusted well to containment. It is to be housed in a 20m x 15m enclosure of reinforced concrete, which includes a 5m x 5m sleep area. It is to be provided with 5-7kg of raw meat per day, with feedings taking place twice daily. “Treat” items - which includes fish, juvenile game birds (such as chicken), honey, and yogurt - may be provided with approval as rewards for good behavior. Cleaning and maintenance are to be carried out daily. Should any new damage to its mask be observed, it is to be noted immediately and examined for structural integrity.

Despite being identified as genetically having a number of similarities to humans, it also shares many physiological traits with reptilians, such as a covering of thin, translucent scales, an elongated body, and horn-like growths of keratin on its head and along the back of its neck. It is remarkably durable, able to withstand extreme environmental temperature, and possessing a high resistance to caustic or toxic substances. The secondary set of limbs on its back are seldom used, either for walking, interacting with its environment, or for engaging in hostile behavior, leading to some speculating that they may in fact be nearly vestigial. They are, however, occasionally used as part of indicating its emotional state. Approximately every six months, it will shed old skin and scales, typically in patches; it has been noted as being more irritable during this time, and caution is advised during interactions.

Closer physical examinations have revealed that its jaws are capable of extending further than its mask allows, and it possesses small venom glands in its lower jaw. This venom is highly toxic, causing rapid and severe hemorrhaging, and may cause death in an affected human within thirty minutes of injection. Additionally, there appears to be a set of organs within its chest that are currently non-functional, and are thought to be either atrophied or under-developed due to their small size and lack of activity. It is unknown what purpose they might have served, if any.

XX63 has been deemed sentient, and staff visits may be allowed with approval from site management. Regular interactions are scheduled with research staff for the purpose of socialization and data collection, as well as the continuation of its linguistic education. Its primary language is a broken variant of Italian; since containment, it has additionally learned a small amount of English. When asked where it initially learned how to speak, it referred to an individual it called “Father.” Additionally, it refers to itself as “Quattro,” or “Four,” and has additionally mentioned the presence of other “brothers and sisters.” As of yet, no other instances have been located.

The mask worn by this anomaly is very similar to porcelain, though it is unusually durable, and close analysis has revealed small particles of silver mixed in with the clay, along with a second, unidentified metal. The type of clay itself has not yet been matched to a region. The process by which it was affixed to XX63 is also unclear, as it appears to have been fully constructed around its face and head, as all elements are of the same material, with no clasps or straps for adjusting its placement. The patterns on the mask, also applied using a similar clay, resemble a form of writing, but are also yet to be fully identified. A single crack has been noted near the right temple, believed to have been sustained prior to containment. While the mask covers much of its face, including the entirety of its eyes, the anomaly does not appear hindered in any significant way.

Included is an excerpt from an interview with XX63, conducted two days after it first spoke about the individual it refers to as “Father.” The interview was carried out by research staff member Dr. Bowman, and was originally in Italian.

XX63: Name is...He is Father? Father is man makes children.
Bowman: He made you?

Bowman: Paper? I don’t understand.
