Out of this series, this is my very favorite....there is much more to it, for me.....this one I get a feeling from...Alice in Wonderland....chaos but a controlled chaos...I love the *white corner* pushing itself from underneath the pile of what nots, could be's, are's and has beens.....I love the depth, some of the others lack this....there are sharp lines married to curves, just oodles of wonderful pen lines to enjoy!!! You say ballpont pen...my favorite is the Zebra F-301.... and remember this comment is only my opinion!!!

I'm glad you like it, thank you very much Barb. I have literally dozens of these, which I did a while back that I'm trying to clean up, scan properly and hopefully make something out of. The input is greatly appreciated, it helps me decide which others to post. Seriously.
A lot of people ask the same question you did, about how I approach them. It really depends on my mood. If someone wanted to psychoanalyze me, it would be easy using these drawings. I really would just let the picture do the work. Meaning; after each swirly stroke, I would follow up with another stroke that somehow complimented the next one. And as the drawing grows, each new stroke has many others around it, that it needs to compliment. Or, be get along with.
Once an overall feeling, and atmosphere starts to emerge, I begin to conform to an idea.
Generally though, I don't have any particular idea to begin with. Just a feeling. You will find that there are some with a definite anger or edginess to them. Some have a more relaxed, soft or flowing feel. There are some in particular that were done at a time I was in great turmoil in my life. Those will convey an uneasiness usually.
They've been called doodles before. I think you'll find, maybe more so after I post a few more of them, that there's more to them than doodling. Or maybe not. I can accept that to.
One thing I did do consciously, was to imagine how the drawing would convert into a painting. Which is something I hope to do soon also. Another reason why any input is helpful.
I really love different interpretations form other people. Thank you again. And I will check out the Zebras you mentioned.
My humble beginnings with drawing were mostly with pencil. But I've either given away or sold most of those. And I used to be terrible at keeping copies. I have a couple I'm going to clean up though and try to post soon as well. I'll look forward to your review on them too.
Cheers,

Do either of these count as similar?

They are the only ones i can find that i have online anywhere. Not exactly similar similar or anything, but they were of the style that I was speaking of that I did. There were alot more that were more similar that have probably disappeared forever though.

Wow, very cool, I like "Stilts" a lot. You're right, similar, but different.

I have quite a few that I did during a rough time, it seems to be the time for me to get creative, or at least try. So many of them represent serious mental anguish. A release, I think.
