Personality: Fairly quiet, meek and subservient. Until he loses his temper, in which case his niceness quickly deteriorates into sarcasm and callousness, and even downright cruelty. He is fairly ashamed of this, and tries really hard not to lose his temper, because getting pissed off can have the side effect of him exploding into his demon form. In demon form, he is still capable of rational thought but only if he gets himself under control, but since he usually turns into a demon under stress, pain, or anger, he usually has little control and acts essentially like a beast. However in both forms he remains highly obedient to Toren, and can usually be brought down with a direct order from the prince unless he's really worked himself up.
Likes:
Dogs, and animals in general.
Being praised (by the prince), or otherwise recognized for something he's done.
Winning, whether it's a game or a fight, and therefore always goes 100% even if it's something really trivial.
Determined (see above) - he has a very tryhard attitude. For everything. You could call him 'dogged' but if you did, you'd probably be treated to a smack in the face, at the very least (see below)
Dislikes:
Being called a dog or variations thereof, he finds it insulting, (even though he is half wolf-demon) So if you need a surefire way to piss him off, just call him a mutt, then sit back and watch the fireworks.
Failure/embarrassment/losing. Because of his determination this usually doesn't happen, but then it stings more when it does.
Loud/irritating noises, or strong smells. Augmented senses always come with this drawback.
Strengths:
Really sharp eyesight, his demon eyes allow him to see well in the dark as well as the daytime. His other senses are also augmented, again because of the demon soul.
Physically strong and resilient in both forms, so he can take damage as well as he can deal it.
Agile (at least in his demon form; he's only average on that front when he's in human form)
Very, very practiced with his firearms (the magical enhancements mean that practicing doesn't waste ammo, so he can do it all the time) and can also use other types of gun in a pinch. Though he prefers his own, of course.
Weaknesses:
If his human form dies, he dies. The demon form can't die per se but if it's injured enough it'll vanish completely until it recovers, leaving him just an ordinary human being until then. To recover, the demon has to gain energy from the human form, which leaves him fairly helpless for a few days. (And if a character has some sort of exorcism ability and uses it on him, the same thing will essentially happen)
He tries to keep his temper in check, but being intrinsically hotheaded his efforts usually end in him losing his temper and exploding into demon form. Embarrassing, as well as making him fairly easy to manipulate and predictable in this respect.
Due to the augmented senses, if something is really loud or smells strongly it can range from distracting to downright incapacitating.
This is more of a stupid design decision on my thirteen-year-old self's part, but he has literal knee-length hair which is not the most helpful thing to have in /any/ fight. Toren usually has to braid it and tie it up for him before they do any serious kind of combat (see additional ref)
Fighting Style:
Human form: primarily long range, uses his firearms but of course, he was trained in hand to hand combat and other weapons too... bodyguard and general in the army and all that.
Demon form: close range, uses his surprising agility (the demon form is very large, but light) and his fangs to tear things up.
Weapons and belongings:
I remember spending a lot of time working out the abilities of his firearms, which is why I actually remember this five years later. The guns are magically/temporally/spatially affected and shoot a single bullet that is timelocked (i.e. it won't break) and will reappear back in the chamber whenever the trigger is pulled, while leaving behind whatever damage it dealt.
Also wears a Kevlar (or equivalent) chest protector thing (again, magically augmented to resist all sorts of damage, not just physical), another relic of his bizarre stint in a modern dimension.
Other notes:
His demon form and human form are separate, so injuries don't carry over between them so he can take two times the damage he would normally be able to.
The demon form heals by itself over time, but to heal injuries in the human form he has to stay in the human form. So hypothetically he could be critically injured in human form, switch out to demon form and wait until he found a healer to avoid dying.
History: Toren was the prince of some country and Jaya was his half-demon general/bodyguard. Jaya was also sent into another dimension at one point, which is why he has firearms, modern style clothing and body armor even though he's actually from a fantasy setting. I don't know any more than that because I lost my first deviantArt account which had all their refs, comics and stuff on there, and I was stupid and didn't back anything up, so this is all I can remember. I never finished their story and drastically redeveloped both the characters and the plots into newer versions; current!Jaya is a human female with a new look and a completely different personality.
I give my opponents permission to kill this character: Yes, but I'll only allow you to kill him if you promise to make it as brutal/gruesome/heartrendingly tragic as you possibly can.

How he died (he is aware he is dead, but doesn't know how - he has a lot of insecurity about this because the fact that Toren is also dead means he may have failed in his duty) REGAINED ROUND 2 - EDITS - previous text read 'Jaya, separated from the main army and the prince and in the wrong place at the wrong time after a battle, was captured by the rebel enemy force and tortured for information on Toren’s plans. After the prince’s subsequent capture, Jaya was forced to watch as the prince was killed, clearly believing he had been betrayed by his general. The rebels lost the war shortly afterwards and Jaya was rescued, however he was put to death after a short trial as a traitor. As he believed he deserved.' but changed completely by Caspian and Spinner to ‘Jaya’s death was, most importantly, noble. The prince’s lead advisor, secretly a long time informant for the rebels, showed his true colors at last by attempting to assassinate the prince in an attempt to turn the tide of a battle. Though Jaya reacted quickly and shot the traitor in his tracks, with his dying breath the turncoat still managed to lunge for the unsuspecting prince. Jaya selflessly took the blow instead, saving Toren’s life but losing his own in the process.’
How he was taken to the future, spliced with a demon, and given his armour and weapons (he still knows how to use the guns proficiently, but now the specific knowledge of the intricacies of the weapons are locked) REGAINED ROUND 3 - EDITS - After having nightmares pre-round, he got the page back and remembers how he was dragged to another dimension, experimented on, spliced with a demon, and then further experimented on (to stabilize the demon, tests of its/his new skill (which included fighting/killing other splices), to make it/him more submissive) before eventually escaping back to his dimension.

Persona:
His social awareness/desire to appear nice to anyone except Toren is locked. His belligerence and overprotectiveness is now apparent on the surface instead of hidden. REGAINED ROUND 4 - EDITS - Well, Toren, the paranoid little shit, went and fucked everything right up. Toren essentially made the dominant aspect of Jaya's personality unswerving loyalty and obedience to him, which kind of conflicts with the whole 'actually nice' part of his personality. Toren literally has no idea what he's doing so Jaya's mind is essentially fucked, resulting in weird personality wavers whenever a command/loyalty question to Toren overrides what he was doing initially. Fun times.
