You turned on your computer, waiting for the background screen to pop up. The sun was going down outside, but you didn't care. You needed to make a video call, which would require you using your laptop. It had a webcam hooked up to it, which would allow you to see the person you were going to call. The two of you decided that you would call each other every other day and talk for at least thirty minutes. It was hard to be in a long distance relationship, but it was worth the work. It was easier than normal long distance relationships because of Dan's Youtube channel. You were able to watch him and see how his life was going. This was good. He also watched your channel.
Your Youtube channels had been the reason the two of you had met in the first place. You had been heading to a con that you had been invited to when you met. It was nerve-racking because this was the first con that you had been to. When you arrived there, you met Dan. He became your tall protector during the con. It turns out that he had been watching your channel, so he knew who you were. It was exciting to meet him, but it was also odd. You hadn't met many other Youtubers before now. You weren't sure how you would react. He seemed to understand this, as did his best friend Phil. Both of them were very understanding.
The two of you hung out a lot during the con. Once it was time to leave, you exchanged numbers. From that point on, the two of you have been getting closer and closer. It didn't take long for Dan to ask you out when you visited him in England. You stayed there for a week and it was the best week of your life. Yet, it was over too soon. You had to go back to your home, which was in the United States. This made you sad, but you continued your relationship long distance.
You opened up Skype and once again were forced to wait. You let it load, the blue dot spinning. You were mesmerized by it for a moment before everything loaded. You were greeted by the pictures of all of your contacts. Many of them were other Youtubers that you kept in contact with. The other ones were friends that you had before you started your Channel. You didn't have many. The amount of friends you had before you started the channel was around 2-4. Now, you had many people you would consider friends. Not all of them were close friends, but friends none the less. You looked at your favorites, seeing Dan's picture. The green dot was beside it, signalling that he was online. You clicked it and started the call. He answered, using his web camera.
"Hey, love." He said, his voice slightly gruff. His hair was a mess and he was sitting on his bed. You smiled because you were in the same position as him, just in your own bedroom.
"Hey.." The two of you began to make small talk about what has happened between the last time that you had called and now. You let Dan tell you everything first. He told you about the games that he and Phil were planning to play for their gaming channel. The newest video that they were planning on releasing sounded hilarious. You couldn't wait to watch it.
"So, do you have your Christmas decorations up?" You asked. The holiday was creeping up and it was time to get the apartment festive. You weren't sure if you were going to decorate this year. You were alone in your apartment, so what was the point?
"Not yet. We are waiting to get an answer back from a question we have to ask."Dan said, glancing behind him like he heard something. But, it was nothing. Nothing was behind him. It was like he was trying to find what words he should say.
"What's the question? Is it one to your fans?" You asked. Maybe they asked them to decide something and they were waiting for the answer. You couldn't guess what the question was and you hadn't seen anything up already. Had you missed something? You were normally good with keeping up with what they said on social media.
"No..No, that isn't it." He paused, biting his lip. He looked nervous. You had never seen him this nervous except for the first time that the two of you had kissed.
"What is it?" Dan cleared his throat before answering you.
"Well, we were wondering. I mean, it was my idea but I did ask Phil. It wouldn't be fair if I didn't let him have a say in this. It's a big decision and he is an important person in my life, as you know. So,we came to a decision that it was okay." He continued to ramble on, saying things that you didn't understand.
"What is it, Dan? Get to the point. What's the question?"
"We want to know-I want to know. (Y/N), will you move in with us? We have enough money so you won't have to do anything. All you would have to do is pack." You were shocked by what he said. Your eyes widened and you weren't sure how you should respond. This was a big decision...Yet, you knew what you wanted to say. Was it the right answer? What if it was the worse decision? Everything could go wrong! What if you broke up? Your family was in America...All these thoughts ran through your head.
"We-We knew that you would say n-"
"Yes!" You blurted out, smiling. You needed to take risks sometimes. Plus, you always wanted to move in with him. The offer was on the table and you couldn't pass it up this time. This was a big decision. but you felt like you were making a good decision.
"R-Really?" Dan sounded shocked and excited.
"Yeah!"
"Great! We can buy the ticket whenever you are ready. You can just pack the essentials and we can deal with the other stuff another time, if that is alright. We talked to your brother and he said he would help send some stuff over when you are here." Dan explained. They had been thinking about this for a while. This made you feel wonderful!
"When you get here, we can decorate. We were waiting for you so it can be a true Christmas." He continued explaining.
"This is the best present every, Dan! Thank you so much!" You squealed. You couldn't wait to go over. It would be a stressful few weeks, but that would be worth it in the end. The sooner you could pack, the sooner you could go over to England.
"Merry Christmas, (Y/N)." Dan said, blowing a kiss toward you. You could tell how happy he was. He must have been stressing over this, since that was how his mind worked. He could have been panicking over your response. You wondered if he had laid down in the hallway like he had done many times before.
"Merry Christmas, Dan!"
