Description
photo Β© myself, K. Lindeman, please don't use or reproduce without my permission!Sholo and his mate Rambo- Sholo is the alpha male of the pack, but Rambo is just one of the higher up females. She's constantly in contest with the ACTUAL alpha female, who doesn't seem to give a crap. Sholo currently favors Rambo, which is natural- it provides variances in the pups.
Sholo (front) and Rambo (behind) are Grey wolves.

May I ask where this photo was taken? I dream of doing beautiful shoots of wolves, but our local zoo only has one, ill, very old wolf.

Actually, this is from a private photo shoot I did with the lovely people of Animalsofmontana.com These two wolves are Sholo and Rambo, the alphas of the resident pack. I got to be in the enclosure with these wonderful animals.
Now, I paid...a lot..for it, but it truly was a priceless experience.

There's a few wolf sanctuaries here in Oregon, but the closest is at least 2 hours from me, so I've not gotten out yet.
I'm hoping to go to one, or both this year, assuming I can find a sitter. Otherwise, I'll have to ask them if they'd allow a 4 year old (animal lover) to attend a tour. I assume so, but never know.

No, they wouldn't. :< they have a 16+ policy, because young children tend to be closer to mouth-height. XD
The tour is just magnificent, though. Talk to Tracy and Troy Hyde, they run the place. Fantastic people.

I'm talking about the local sanctuaries One of them posts on their site, that they allow schools to visit, BUT, I don't know if the tours are differnt for kids vs adults.
If going alone gets me a better chance of seeing wolves, I'd go alone, otherwise, I'd prefer to bring kidlet if she's old enough for the tours at the local wolf places.

Oh, well then it very well could be! XD If she's a quiet little booger, it'd be even nicer!
But usually in these sanctuaries, you see at least one wolf, no matter what the noise level is. XD
