Entry 1 out of 43
12:43 AM
[Man walks in, slightly balding, a medium-quality suit on]
[Looks bedraggled, and tired, doesn't look like he wants to talk]
[Opens mouth several times, doesn't speak, seemingly scared or in shock]
"Well...." he said, trailing off. "I seem to be in a bit of trouble, don't I?
[Attempts to smile, instead looks pained and nervous]
"A few months ago, I met a new patient, a William Harris, I think it was. He didn't seem to be doing well, didn't have any friends, and had some psychotic episodes prior to his landing on my doorstep."
"He seemed to like opening up, like it let something out, like it made him feel better. I was hopeful, because a patient who has an attitude like that usually get better very quickly, because they know that if they work at it, they will."
"William was a special case. It seems that alongside his all-aorund psychotic episodes, he was also suffering from delusions. He had thought for a long while that his mother was alive, it wasn't actually until he started seeing me that the delusion was discovered. He had kept his mother in the dining room, and moved her to his room, and letting her "sleep". He fed her, and used explanations that made sense to him: she was sick, she was disappointed, she "wasn't very talkative", and so the list goes on, and his delusion persisted for 8 years, when he finally saw me."
"William was hard to coerce into reality, because he was so far into the workings of his own imagination that he had left all semblances of reason behind with his mother's life."
"I managed to do that, at least, and gave him an antipsychotic to help his episodes, and a schedule for when to take them, so that he wouldn't forget and have another episode."
"He eventually lost his medication, and retained a small semblance of sanity for a couple of weeks, before he completely lost his mind. He was found crying over his dead mother that he himself had exhumed, with jumper cables clasping her hands, connected to a telephone wire that had been ripped down from the pole somehow."
"He was talking about the angels holding her hands."
