Anna looked up, clad in the colors of mourning once more, gazing out the windows that had seemed so much brighter just days before. She said she would come back. She said that she had cared about me more than anything, and maybe that was her reason, but it didn't feel like it.
She had slipped away again, and there was again no shoulder to cry on, no one to talk to. Anna's friends had left with Elsa, it seemed. There was nothing really left for Anna, but she would slough off all of the pain, all of the weariness, and live on.
Anna thought about moving from the hard wooden chair overlooking the fjord, with the pristine lakes and rugged mountains, but could not bring herself to move. She just couldn't handle the fact that Elsa had left again.
And that this time, nothing could bring her back. Not a visit to the trolls, not all the magic in the world could even come close to bringing her back. Not truly.
She would just leave again. And again.
Anna couldn't even refer to Kristoff by name any more. It had hurt too much. Kristoff had left as soon as Elsa had, and in not as kind of a way. He had left Anna in the dirt.
Olaf had melted soon after Elsa died, so there wasn't even that small comfort.
There was literally nothing left for Anna anymore. But she had to stay strong for Arendelle, and take the crown.
She didn't know if she could do it.
