Reminds me of something I read , can't remember where ... There was a gallery, and a piece on it consisted of the word "RED" painted in huge green letters ... The title was "Letters"

It was in a book, by Michael Ende ... a collection of novels, something like that, now what was the title ....
'The mirror within the mirror' , or something like that. At least that was the greek translation of it.

This piece speaks to me on many levels. While it has an elegant touch of class, it also retains its bourgeoisie roots. Whether you're rich or poor, you can feel the artist's emotions tearing through their artwork with a zest rarely witnessed amongst today's top artists. So where does one start to break down this depiction of colour. In keeping with their minimal refinement, the artist has cleverly titled the piece simply 'red' which coincidently enough happens to be the pigmentation this virtuoso has chosen for their masterpiece. Are they political zealots, seeking to make heard their muffled voice suppressed by the current of conglomeration? Or does red speak out against youth violence, symbolizing the wasted blood spilled day in and day out on the streets of our neighbourhoods, our towns, our world. Perhaps red is a voice of rage, unbridled angst, writhing in the recesses of the artist’s brain. His gentle temperament, and passive demeanour are only a front, for deep beneath the surface lies great vengeance and furious anger, burning like crimson wildfires of nauseate for our futility. We might never know what the artists inspiration was for this piece, it might even be as simple an answer to say that they simple like the colour red, or that they enjoy squares. However this analyst prefers to think of deep meaning behind this pictorialization, and I for one look forward to more mastery from this architect of design soon.

After long, deep thought, i designed this work, "Red" to follow my former masterpiece "Black" an unlimate expression of darkness, symbolised in a black square. The swuare in both pictures representing the simpleness of the artworks, as well as the seriousness and logical thought behind it. Also, it represents that the emotions behind the paintings are being surpressed within their borders, thereby growing to huge porportions, emotion symbolicly pressing to the edges of their artwork, begging to be set free. Where the darkness of Black is a quiet outcry, a darkness that does not like being within borders, but accepts its current situation, "Red" almost jumps of screen in its will to be set free. It is more active a colour then blakc, holding rage, anger, desperation, and disacceptance of its current bordered situation, but also passion, life, and disre, longing to be set free. "Red" is in al ways a piece of emotion longing to be set free from its square borders, screaming for freedom to l;ive and express those extreme emotions locked within. It repressent a universal desire to be fre, to live, and even to scream.
(o, and thanks for the favorite )
