Description There was a little contest at college on Friday where the contestants (students) had to draw an image of their choice using only an art brush, and 3 different colours of paint - black, white and one other colour of their choice.

Since I had nothing else to do on a boring Friday morning, I thought 'What the Hell' and gave it a shot. I chose a picture of someone I know that I was going to use in Art class. But instead, I used it to draw a portrait of the exact image in a non-precise and exact way. Using what paint I had and a multi-range of different tones I could make with those 3 colours, I created this within the 45 minute time limit we were given. I don't know whether this would be deemed more of a Portrait or more of an Abstract piece, but I would think it has properties of both categories.

Mine along with everybody's elses drawings were looked at and judged by a panel of judges. In the end, my drawing got 3rd place - behind a drawing of a landscape of tall buildings and one of a flower.

3rd place got me £20 worth of book vouchers.......WOOPEE!
Anyway, enough about that, hope you like it!

That is awesome! I love the way the color tones fit the title.

Thanks, shame I never got 1st place though. Guess the judges thought the hand looked a little.......well......flat.

ah who cares about flat lol, judges smudges. Critics always manage to find things wrong, theyre the ones that are wrong

Interesting, and nice brush strokes. I would say it's more of an abstract piece.

Thank you very much. I get confused with Deviation categories on this site - I wish they were all oh so simpler.
