In the game (at least the Remake), Tifa knows how to do a lot of things and knows a lot of people of Sector 7. I questioned myself for a moment wondering how she knows a lot of things. And the answer that I found (maybe wrong) is very simple: she went to school.Yeah, her village was destroyed by Sephiroth and everything but then she moved away and reached Midgar. And the idea is that she went to school there. OK, the background doesn't really looks like one that you can find in Midgar but it was the most "relatively technological" that I found.
