Description
This was taken near the end of the scenic Artist's Drive in Death Valley National Park . The drive is described on the park service's web-site as a "[s]cenic loop drive through multi-hued volcanic and sedimentary hills. Artistβs Palette is especially photogenic in late afternoon light." While this shot isn't from the most colorful portion of the drive, but I like it just the same.Click here to go to my blog and see this image before and after post-processing.Related content

This photo emits feelings of both gigantic and tiny at the very same time, yet does so in a perfectly balanced way so that one does not overpower the other. Point of view, composition and post-processing, all very powerful here. Makes me want to get inside of it. Fantastic job!

Thanks for your compliment and critique. This area was really cool. Was lucky I was able to enjoy it with very little traffic interruption!
