Seymour is practically pure muscle, he is always in top physical condition. He has logs for legs and big ol' paws. His ears are large and floppy and he has big jowls. Seymour has a docked tail and three scars, one above his nose and two on his chest.

- If you call him Seyers, he'll probably wreck you. Only his old handler has permission to call him that
- Actually does not mind the company of cats
- Secretly likes small fossils (and has hidden away a few of them somewhere safe)
- Knows some basic German words/commands
- Has no known vendetta against any of the other factions as of now. Suspicious of junkyard dogs and some strays

Personality:

Sociable
Seymour is very sociable and has no qualms about walking up to a stranger and initiating conversation. He doesn't like being alone so he often seeks interaction, whether it be with his fellow dogs or handlers. Despite being sociable, he is guarded of his past and secrets that he holds close to his heart.

Dedicated
Seymour is acutely dedicated to his handler and to his task as a Shepherd; maybe even too dedicated. He is learning to know his job inside, outside, frontwards, and backwards and does his utmost at everything he is assigned to execute. He's steadfastly loyal to his handler and his brothers and sisters. He has a lot to give to those who manage to earn his trust but due to his reserved manner about personal details, it can be hard to get to know him and develop a relationship.

Disciplined
Seymour is disciplined physically and mentally. When he first arrived in DoC, he had a bit of an authority problem but he and his handler, Nadine, worked that out. Seymour is always in control of what he does and how he does it. Except when posed with a challenge; he can't help but accept, no matter how crazy it may seem.

Intelligent
Ever since Seymour was a puppy he had a knack for catching onto things quickly. His training usually went very well and he learned things promptly. He's known to be extremely intelligent and able to adapt to different situations rapidly. He has a mind at constant work and is often turning the gears to figure something or someone out.

Observant
You might notice that Seymour may stare at you, especially when he first meets you. This is because he's trying to pick you apart, examining your outward strengths and weaknesses. During his MWD training  and his time as a patrol dog he was taught to be observant and now it's just a deeply-embedded habit. He may notice small details about something or someone that you may have not. He's actually been known around the base to get his cage door open or even human doors open simply because he's watched them do it and figured out how he can do it. He's good at reading expressions and it's extremely difficult for anything to get by him.

Honest
Seymour has a personal philosophy of being honest at all times. (A nice way of saying blunt.) He strives to tell to the truth, no matter the consequences he may bring upon himself or others. He has no problem with telling you what is on his mind. This may be good when someone needs to know the hard truth, but hey, sometimes the truth hurts.

Perfectionist
Seymour pushes himself excessively to do well at his job and a lot of the times he doesn't like to give himself a break, being self-critical. He's definitely a perfectionist and won't except anything less than the best. Some people might see this as a neutral trait but in Seymour's case, it's so excessive that it really doesn't do him a whole lot of good. He has been known to overwork himself, making his paw pads bleed from too much patrolling or whatever he can do to execute his job. Luckily, his handler has been forcing him to rest periodically but that doesn't mean he likes it.

Demanding
He has always been demanding of himself and others. He can be assertive and critical of others, especially if they are put under his command. He expects your utmost and more. He demands other to be at a high level of functionality and to never let their guard down. He can be pushy and sometimes over the top.

Assertive
Seymour is extremely assertive and has no problem asserting his authority over those who need to be knocked down a peg or twenty. He has been known by other MWDs or MWDs in training as the true Devil Dog. If you're put under his command you can expect a tight command with no grey area.

Vindictive
While this is one of Seymour's trait you will rarely see, he has a strong drive for revenge. If you hurt him or anyone he cares about you'll be in deep, deep water. There's only been a handful of incidents that called for revenge on Seymour's part. No one has gotten killed. Yet.

Short-tempered
As if his assertive, demanding, and unforgiving personality wasn't bad enough, Seymour can get extremely angry, extremely fast. This happens especially with dogs who are particularly selfish, egotistical, disrespectful, or if he just thinks you're being annoying in general. You must tread very carefully around him and be cautious of his short fuse.

Quirks:
- Hates squirrels
- He purrs  when he's happy and/or comfortable (really only does this with handler and close family members)
- He can't turn down a challenge
- Loves to chew on things, especially when he's anxious or overly stressed

Pre-Group History:
Born in the mountainous region of Austria, Seymour was thrust into the military lifestyle as soon as he was delivered. His mother belonged to a Zugsführer in the Austrian Armed Forces (similar to Sergeant in American military ranking) who used her for breeding military K-9s. Seymour's mother, Jelena, gave birth to 6 healthy puppies. Unfortunately, after their birth it was discovered that the father's pedigree had been falsified and there was some mastiff in the lineage. Once they learned that, they decided that they would sell the puppies to America once they were of an independent age. In Austria he was called Bastian lovingly by his mother and handlers. He spent the first few weeks of his life with his rambunctious siblings, sparring, eating, sleeping. And then repeating those three steps. The handlers came in and began training him and his siblings at 5 weeks of age. They started off with easy commands, such as sit, shake, lay down, etc. Even from such a young age Seymour had a little trouble understanding what they wanted. But by watching his mother and siblings' examples he began to learn quickly.
Once he reached the age of 8 weeks old, he and his siblings were being prepared to be shipped to Germany where many military K-9s are bought from America. They gave him a pill to make him a lil' sleepy and keep him calm for the plane ride and they were off! When he arrived, he stayed only for a couple days before he found himself back on the plane, heading for the U.S.A.

When he arrived he had been separated from his siblings and was on his own. He was given a new American name when he arrived in San Antonio, Texas, Seymour. He was taken to 341st Training Squadron where they began the process of exposing him to a variety of activities that he would have to learn to become used to as a future military dog. They then began the process of fostering him out for the socialization he would need to become a great working dog. A reputable couple who had fostered future working dogs before decided to take him in. They had a 7-year old daughter named Emily who Seymour grew very attached to. He learned when he needed to be in protect mode and when he should be more accepting of people he didn't know. Seymour learned the values of loyalty and obedience in that home. When he reached the age of 7 months, he had to leave a broken-hearted Emily to go back and begin basic training. While he was sad to see her go, he knew that his masters would take good care of her. So he left with a heavy heart but the assurance of her safety.

There he began training with Corporal Alan Linsley who was chosen to train him. Alan didn't like the name Seymour all that much so he began calling Seymour, Seyers as a nickname. Seymour took to it happily, having some experience in changing names. Some of the personnel there had their doubts about the dog due to the breed's stigma but they were proven wrong when Seymour began to outdo some of the other dogs. He excelled in K-9 Attack Training and explosives detection. He worked and continued training at a military base in Texas until the age of 3. At this point, as you can imagine, him and Corporal Alan had bonded very closely. While Alan never took him home at night, he was the one who took care of him, trained him, and was with him all day. Corporal Alan and Seymour were being deployed to Afghanistan to locate explosives for military teams over there. When Seymour arrived, the scenery was a bit of a shock. Compared to the lush mountains of his childhood home and the grassy plains of Texas, the Afghani desert was definitely deviating from what Seymour was accustomed to. Despite the complete change in scenery and lifestyle, Seymour's handler did his best to get him acclimated. With booties for the hot sand and some extra work outside to adapt to the heat. Eventually, Seymour grew accustom to it.

He and Alan often did patrol along the military base's perimeter and when they weren't doing that Alan and he were out detecting explosives and IED's. Some people might think that Rottweiler's don't have that great a sense of smell in comparison to the labradors that are typically are used for EOD work, and they'd be right; however, Seymour was able to meet a well enough standard to keep his job and do it suitably.  One day while out on patrol a pack of wild boars attacked/tried to trample Seymour and Corporal Alan and the rest of the squad for invading their territory accidentally, causing injuries to Seymour and two of the soldiers. Seymour actually managed to take one of them down but not without getting two gashes across his chest. The squad fired at the boars, killing a few but the rest fled the scene. The injured were rushed to medical bay. They needed some stitches and a soldier needed surgery but Seymour got patched up and once he was done with his recovery, he went back to work once they were sure his abilities were still in tact.

After eleven long months in Afghanistan, it was their time to return. After only a few months of staying home, he was redeployed with Corporal Alan once more to Afghanistan. A lot more action occurred this deployment compared to the first. Many more attack attempts were made by the enemy, some close calls were had. Many enemies there wanted to target Seymour and Alan, since they knew that they could detect and remove explosives and ammuniton. Seymour and other military working dogs uncovered hundreds of bombs and IED's, saving the lives of countless soldiers. All the while Seymour and Corporal Alan's bond grew even stronger. Every minute was spent together, they were extremely close. Seymour felt as if he could take on the world when he was with Alan. He remembers Alan would always talk to him, even if no one else was around. He'd tell him about his family back home and what they had raised him on. Honesty, loyalty, and honor. He'd tell Seymour about all the lives he was saving. About all the good just one dog or one soldier could do, against all odds. While Seymour couldn't technically interpret quite what he was saying, they had a mutual understanding. Thirteen months they spent there. Doing perimeter check and locating explosives. It was grueling, difficult work but they made it through because they had each other.

When they were finally able to return home, to the beautiful grassy plains of Texas, things seemed to be going well. Suddenly, Corporal Alan Linsley was reassigned and was told that he would have to leave the dog he had spent so much time with. The dog that he had poured his soul into, told all his secrets to. He would have to say goodbye. Seymour could tell something was wrong. Alan wasn't acting right. The stress and sorrow that resonated within Alan transferred itself to Seymour. The rottweiler began to understand what was happening. He didn't want to say goodbye. This was the man he protected countless times, the man that had protected him in return. They said a fond farewell to eachother, although Alan insisted that he would see Seymour soon. He would come and reunite with the dog he had bonded so closely with. Seymour awaits his return patiently still.

While Alan was reassigned, so was Seymour. Seymour was going to be going to a town called Canidale. A new military base was beginning to erect itself there and they were in need of some dogs for patrol and other tasks around the base. Seymour was assigned to a new handler, Sergeant Nadine Mitchell. At first Seymour didn't really like her. Sure, he'd follow her commands and do what she told him to but when it came to accepting food or praise, he refused. Someone else had to feed him and he didn't cuddle anyone anymore. He was bitter that she had taken Alan's place and longed for his old handler. The handlers at the base were beginning to think he wouldn't come around and they'd have to send him into early retirement. A few weeks of stubborn persistence on Nadine's side convinced him that maybe she wasn't so bad and that even though she wasn't Alan, it didn't mean she was bad or trying to take his place. He's still slowly warming up to her and now lives at the base. He's starting on the bottom of the food chain as of now but his plans are to work up through the ranks and be able to lead his own unit one day, perhaps.
