Brenda got pwned. lol.
Just kidding.
But yeah I defintally see how you have alot more detail towards the center of the picture and moved out from there.
Was this just pencil?

it looks like you have a lot of freedom in your class...lucky
only thing i can see is that there could have been more values from black to white
and face seemed very flat, there didnt seem to be alot of shading there either

My teacher is a contrast nut and really wants extreme darks and lights.
Thankyou for pointing out the face to me, I really didn't think on it because I intentionally took it from the focus of my picture.

o...well heres a couple tips, in case you dont know. and my teacher is s stickler for anything i draw and refuses to let me use my own ideas...leading me wanting to drop the class.
tape the picture up and stand at least 5 five from it, which is where a person viewing it would see if it were in a case...itll help you determine if you need to darken anything up
also, when drawing on a flat surface it makes things unproportional sometimes so if you can tilt up the table then do so.
otherwise its really really good...your always so creative with your work

This is interesting. I love macabre stuff. I think that her shoulder on the left is a little square-ish. Also, same side, the transition from arm to chest area is a little strange. But my gosh at the details! I aspire to be more detailed someday. I think you'll make a very nice grade!

The only thing that caught my eye was her waist, I'm not sure if it's supposed to be that thin, even with corset-wear, but she also looks Zombie like, and a waist that thin could be the result of her deteriorated organs.

Perhaps it was subconscious?

I think world record was a 15 inch circumference waist so you should be ok here but the size of the torso dose seen just a tadΒ small but this is coming from a sophomore in highschool so I'm not a master of proportions.

just saw your watcher count, you seriously deserve more attention, You are the only person i have seen on here doing realistic homestuck drawings this good!

I don't really grind so much for the community aspect on deviant these days. Aside from that I don't think the Homestuck fandom really enjoys the level of realism I use. The general sense I get is that HS fandom prefers more stylized works I think. Some of these Homestuck pieces get more attention on tumblr but deviantart has been pretty quiet. I'm on the older end of the spectrum of HS fans and don't really have time/energy to be super involved in the community.Β

I am a newer fan and I'm doing a week of realistic drawings myself so I understand the skill required for this and I luv the dedication to the work you have.
Realistic drawings are tough in my openion so seeing your stuff where you can hardly tell wether it is a cosplayer or not just wows me.
also, I look on google for realistic gamzee to get ideas for mine and yours was one of like 3 I saw, the rest were stylaized or partially realistic.

Doing realistic portraits takes a great deal of practice. Took me years to get it down.Β
But it can be done with lots of practice. The HS fandom is a great subject for fanart, so if you really wanted to try and learn a realistic style, you've got plenty of material to work from!
ah I never really thought about googling that before. But you're right there's not a whole lot of realistic HS work. I never really took the time to think about it!

I like it a lot. The arms are really interesting...at first I thought it was just another skinny girl picture but upon further looking I saw that it really was a deeper piece...
We are not what we appear to be.

I'm usually not that into macabre but I could not think of a better way to portray layers than a girl, her clothes and her flesh.

Detail heaven. I love it!
The feeling and everything.
All I can think when I look at this is Roxanne by the Police, which seems to suit the assingment description well too.
Great job!
