it's such a personal choice based on what you like to do. hard to say.

I hear ya! I'm always horribly behind, myself--on and off dA--so I never think twice, if someone doesn't get back to me right away...or even not at all. I figure they read whatever it was--enjoyed it--and meant to respond...but life interfered.
That's what happens with me, anyway!

and you can't cycle through to your next page of comments to see if there is something to which you want to respond, so comments sit there, fermenting!

Oh, that is SO true!!!!!!! They keep giving us all kinds of features here on dA--but the only one I really care about would be just the ability to scroll through pages of my message center!
(And your message center "balance" is a bit like that 10 pounds you gain every year, as an adult...you start off small...but it keeps creeping up, so that the amount you never seem to dip down below gets higher, and higher... Mine's been sitting at around 450 or so comments--and all my best efforts seem to do little or nothing to move it! )
I do manage to keep up with thanking people for faves, because I've got a marvelous little database in Lotus Notes that allows me to zip through 100 or so--including reciprocal visits--in a few hours...but comments...just take time--there's no good way to automate them!

i have given up thanking for fav's. i just clear all those messages at once nowadays. i might change that habit when i have more time. who knows.

I do it because I CAN--and it makes me feel like I'm at least acknowledging SOME of the people who visit me, in a relatively timely fashion!
I think I would've given it up, though, if I didn't have my Notes database to make it so easy.

What's scary is that some people DO actually spend that much time here!!
Me, I'm lucky if I get in a couple of hours a week, most of the time. That's why I like working through the faves...because I can do 50 of them in the time it would take me to do 10 or so comments...and I feel less guilty, that way.

I signed the petition! <3
I own a polaroid camera, however I can't find any film for it.. or even the camera itself >.< BUT! I still love to look at polaroids; I even wrote a paper for school on the history of cameras and learned alot about the Polaroid :3 I'd be so sad if it no longer existed D:
Beautiful photograph, it really resembles how much the past effects the future, but also how it can be changed <3

It's okay. It'd be nice if I found the camera first though xDDD If the petition falls through and it goes on sale I'd buy some :33

i like it a lot although, in my humble opinion with the original white border would look much better... after all this is still polaroid

point taken. =intao suggested i remove it, and i like it that way. obviously, though, i was ambivalent enough to seek a second or third opinion! thanks for the welcome feedback!

I actually like both versions. If you do crop the white frame, crop it where it leaves enough of the white frame around it. A sqaure with frame minus the extra bottom piece. I tend to crop all of my Spectra shots like that and have them rectangle with some of the white frame. It just holds it together all lot nicer rather than crop the image itself. But I do like both ways. I like to fog my lens too with my breath and wipe the center clean for some blurries. I did that today. I was just gonna post it.
I love this polaroid by the way...pure love.

i ended up putting back the pola border. when i crop them for digital enlargements, i respect their imperfect borders, and then just finish the canvas by making it square with a small white (plain) border. i am going to try my hand at spectra now for a while!

could you look at the version that still has its border to see whether you might like it better or worse? i value your opinion!

I like it better without the border. And I don't usually feel that way. Something about this image...well, you can tell it's a pola just by the look and for some reason I think the border detracts from the image.

i decided to submit it here my normal way for the smaller prints. i get larger metallic prints elsewhere, and i respect the non-perfect border of the photo for those, allowing a regular white border. a compromise, if you will.
