Description the peony is from a plant i transplanted from my grandmother's garden into my own after she died. she had received the plant from an elderly friend some 50 years prior or so. the plant is probably a hundred years old. the honey colored light is the light of my kitchen at the end of the day...

Wr do the same thing for my great grandmother's cactus. The thing has to be 150 years old or so.

we divided up the peonies, so no one got one giant shrub, but yes, i can imagine the cactus!

My mom has had it since she went to college.
She just turned 52.
Every spring, I have to carry it out onto the porch for the rest of the season/summer.
My shoulder usually comes out the worse for wear.
