Description
This time I tell you a little story with my picture, which was taken in Wünsdorf Waldstadt, Germany on an exploration tour with a friend. I chose this picture because it represents the love I feel for urban exploration a lot - the shadows and the light on the walls show the many perspectives you can find and see during a tour and the many ways you can get lost and lose yourself in the things you see around you.

My love for urban exploration began about 12 years ago, together with Thrife whom I got to know through deviantart itself. I visited various abandoned places in Berlin (Germany), like rotten train stations or some unknown buildings. Most of them in the evening, when the sunlight was bright enough to see enough and not to be seen either. Sometimes I took a camera with me but the pictures I made never represented the thrill and excitement I felt on this adventures. On my very secon trip I cut my hand deep at a small rosty nail and was very afraid to get tetanus! Lucky I didn't but the shock made me think about the danger a lot :'D

Some years later I stopped taking pictures at all (you can see this quite well through my gallery) but then I met Eerieseelie and we had the idea to make a guided urban exploration tour together. Lucky we did! Because our trip to Beelitz Heilstätten really made me realize how much I missed the eerie and creepy feeling of exploring an abandoned building all by ourselfs. It compares to nothing, really! It's like Silent Hill in real!
For me urban exploration is a way to combine exhilarating adventures with creativity and photography and that's what I like to express with this picture.

The veterans among you may remember a huge challenge competition I first launched back in 2015 called "I Challenge You". The first time around, the premise was that deviants were paired up and would give each other a challenge to be completed within a deadline, for a chance to win a prize as a duo or trio. The second time around, each participant was assigned a Community Volunteer who would give them a challenge to be completed.
If you're curious, you can go look at the old journals here and here. The second edition blew up almost immediately, if I recall we had around 300-400 sign-ups. Well, it's been years and it's time to bring back this challenge game again! I'll try to make it happen once per year, hence why this is "2019 Edition"
