Description
This is Hawthorn (read: hawt-horn just kidding). He was named after a tree, but he doesn't really look like a hawthorn. Because I have no idea what hawthorns are supposed to look like. I wanted to call him Holly, but that sounded kind of girly. Or Willow. Willow's a nice name (and that chick in Buffy is pretty pretty <3 ).Alternative title: Bad hair day.
Those of you who read my livejournal might remember the sketch from there. It's not perfect, but lets all pretend we don't notice the odd blurry spots. Besides, they might be in my eyes only, I've been staring at the monitor for some six hours now.

Yewbeam sounds like an interesting name. Does it mean something? I tried looking on google, but all I found was some children's book series

My mistake - I was thinking of just Yew, which is found in graveyards and is a symbol of sorrow. It's also used in traditional medicine as cures for cancer and dementia. Also, it's associated with the norse rune Eiwhaz, which is symbolic of communication, especially with the dead.
So, in short, death, death, death.

oh my my my what absolutely stunning art you have! The better to watch you for my dear *makes ghey story relations* AH but seriously this picture is a real attention getter and you have some gorgeous work here in your little corner of devart! ^^ Love the very stylized aspect of your art though I think this one is my fave. YAY FOR RECENT ADDITIONS! They draw my attention to pretty galleries on occasion.

Very cool, as usual. I like the tree theme better, just because he looks like he should be a forest god, or have some tree growing around him.

Celtic! hehe. This is something special, I love the composition. I think he could do with some stronger highlighting to make him pop though. A bit of yellow here and there... just places like the cheek there, and on the knuckle. He's getting a little bit lost in the background in my opinion.
