She heard it from the kitchen. Music blasted from Eren’s room.
“That kid, I swear.”
She made her way to Eren’s room and when she opened it, she was surprised to see an unusual scene.
Eren, having inviting his friends Jean, Marco, Levi and Armin over, were all dancing around the room to the song.
Eren was holding a pencil, pretending it was a microphone as he sang into it. Jean danced wildly around, flailing his arms as he moved around the room. Marco danced cutely, he pretended to play air guitar. Armin flipped his hair this way and that as he shook it with the beat. What surprised her the most was the fact that Levi jumped out of nowhere and landed on one knee. He held a broomstick and played it like it was a guitar, swinging his head back and forth as if he was a rocker. Then he stood and played an epic guitar scene, moving the broomstick with the movements of his body.
The boys continued to sing and dance to the music throughout the entirety. Jean continued to dance like he was trying to get someone’s attention. Eren looked as if he was going to swallow the damn pencil, and she was sure Armin would get a headache. Marco and Levi continued playing air guitars, playing with their backs together, bobbing their heads.
“Ahem.”
All four of them stopped abruptly and looked towards Eren’s mother. Armin pushed pause on the stereo mid-stare.
“Mom! Knock!” Eren wailed.
She smiled and sauntered over toward the stereo. She pressed play and snatched Levi’s broomstick.
Eren’s mom rocked away with her soul and played air guitar as hard as she could. flipping her hair back and forth.
After she was finished, she handed the broomstick to a flabbergasted Levi and pressed pause on the stereo.
“Dinner will be ready in 10.” She smiled as she exited and closed the door.
“Eren, your mom rocks,” Marco stated.
Eren smiled and pushed play again.
“You better damn well believe it.”
And with that, they all continued their dancing, singing, and wild kid things.
Levi and Marco finishing with an epic guitar solo, jumping off the bed onto the floor, sliding on both knees.
Everyone ate 10 minutes later with Eren’s mom, who, according to everyone, rocked. She smiled to herself as she washed the dishes.
