I like this design. I think it has the perfect blend of functionality and style.
It feels like something we would put together to fight an alien invasion if it happened in our time.
Alternatively, it could be used to defend a collony on a new planet.

Hey Ergrassa ... what kind of lifting stage does it use?

First and second stages are LOX/Kerosene rockets, and orbiter uses MMH/N2O4 in fighter/bomber and late interceptor variant and nuclear salt-water engine in early interceptor variant.

Erm... is there only one vessel made by the Islamic Union?

Nicely done. Looks a lot like the Gemini spacecraft.

Very cool design! I could see this as being something built in the near future

In Islamic union, you don't launch aeroplanes into space, but space launches aeroplanes into you.

If you think about it too, when dealing with opponents armed with laser weaponry, a curved hull would better scatter an incoming beam.

depends on how realistic your going for, beam weaponry would not be used in any RL militaries direct combat with other vessels. at maximum, they are used for anti missile and mortar defenses.

Yet. The more powerful THEL and MTHEL weapons that they're developing will be able to down aircraft within the near future, and with the way technology is progressing, I wouldn't doubt we'll be seeing common weaponized lasers very soon. I own a one-watt laser pointer that can permanently blind a man at a mile, it's a small step from that to something capable of vaporizing the water in your skin and causing small explosions.

combustion based weapons are easier and cheaper to mass produce. theres no need to produce 20 thousand dollar laser rifles when 6 thousand dollar carbines get the job done more effectively. but you may be right, back in the 1600s or so, gun technology could barely break though knights armor, and accuracy was nonexistent. look at em now... but i still say advanced technology like that wouldnt be commonly used due to expense and repair costs. its also pretty easy to armor against laser weaponry.

There's a need if it's going to be re-entry capable. And some laws of structural design will result in aerodynamic shapes anywhos. :U

true. its completely non standard for a fighter though, id never seen a dual atmosphere fightercraft in this style before. so points for creativity.

Really early flying wings and some of the new small shuttle replacements are great for some creative inspiration.
This looks a lot like a Dragon capsule. But with a lot more bite!

Non-standard? The Russians built something like this once (well...they weren't fighters, they were space stations, but you get the idea! x3). Three of them, IIRC.
In truth, this is probably the closest thing to real life space warcrafts.
