This only took forever and a day.If I only made Soifon take up more area on the canvas...I might only need to spend 1/2 the efforts on bg...
Anyhow, Soifon is my fav captain after Hitsugaya. She's just cool. *o*

the work, the detail in this, is just mind-boggling. I cant believe that EVERY tile in the floor has it's own light touch. its idiotic, its amazing. it rules. Fave and devwatch just for this piece. Im amazed.

Soi Fon is a really nice character, especially after reading the chapter when she fought yoruichi ^^
Alright, I'm definitely going to watch you now, because 1) you're a great artist 2) you do bleach fanart and that's always a big plus in my notebook ^^
I can see that you've spent a lot of time on the bg, however, I have a feeling that the bg is too... sharp, so to speak ^^ I dunno if you take photos? If you do, I think you'd be familiar with the fact that when you...er... 'fix' the camera (dunno the right term, sorry ^^'), you make the character or the main object a lot more focused/sharp, and the background can be a bit blurry. In this case, Soi Fon looks a bit blurry, whereas the bg is really sharp... However, usually, the closest object (soi fon in this case) is sharper than the things that are further awa (the houses etc.) ^^ A small think though, as I still think that your art is teh awesome XD
Wish I could do oekakies... but I never understand how to use all the tools and stuff ^^'

Wah ~~ it's really so pretty. You did the background and the roofs with such detail! I am especially liking the perspective, and the way you coloured the folds of Soi Fong's clothes. And the way you drwe her expression seems very in character to me. She's such a cold, biting girl, but she's not really. And she'd still totally kick your ass.

This is an oekaki? Wow. This is one of the greatest Soi Fong -fan arts I've ever seen. The background is very well done and I like Soi Fong's expression and pose. The colours are very nice too. I'm gonna +fav this.

In fact, I did spend more time on the bg. But as an avid Bleach fan, my initial goal was just to draw Soifon...but then in order to make her look awesome, a decent bg is required. So I worked at it...and at the end from all the comments I got, the background took all the glory. My poor Soifon. (not that I am unhappy that people find the background more attractive)

I love the colors you chose, and I'm one of the 99% that likes the background over Soi Fong (not that she doesn't deserve it; she turned out awesome in this picture~) but I always appreciate a good background. x_x It's nice to know that people do look at the BG, especially when you end up spending way longer on it than the person *laughs* I'd be so happy to make backgrounds like you~ *sigh*
My comments on improving this is by blurring out, or fading the background a bit more. I know it'd take away from the background (>_
Anyway--awesome job! The perspective adds a twist to the image, and gives it a feeling of motion XD I love the pose you chose for her, and I really like the way the stuff on the back of her head (braids? bleh x_x; *is a dork*) looks like its moving in the air. I LOVE the coloring.

You've got a point about those tiles T___T!!! Why didn't I think about that...But it would be quite a sacrifice to make, since I am one of the 99% that loves the tiles as well. I subtly tried to fade out the background (by using light pastel colors...), but I guess that still wasn't enough. A stronger lineart is also a good suggestion. I kinda gave thought to it during drawing, but decided that if I make the her coloring strong enough, I won't need the lines. I do agree that she doesn't stand out as much as she should. (I tried to make her coloring palette warm and the bg cool, but eh XD)
I knew there was something gnawing at me, but you pinpointed them for me. It's kinda hard to hear criticisms to be honest, but I truly appreciate it. I'll heed your advices and bear them in mind the next time I decide to do something like this.
