Megabyte from ReBoot. Shout-out to Tony Jay.
This is supposed to be kinda Hallowe'en/horror-themed, but I do often like making characters a little darker and more menacing in general.

For a long time, I actually intended to do this sort of dark thing with Hexadecimal, but I ended up on Megabyte instead. When I say a long time, I mean I see that I saved reference pictures of Hexadecimal over a year ago and still haven't done anything with them.

Anyway, this is still coming off a little period where my drawings weren't really working out (even more than usual...). I didn't go into this with a lot of confidence that the idea would work out, so I actually started this picture really roughly and suddenly. Like, just jumping into it as if it wasn't going to result in anything I could use, so I didn't have to put my obsessive care into it.

My rough lines looked kinda shaky because I was approaching it without much of a plan and more making up the shape/form of him as I went and trying to loosen up. But I liked how it looked, so I did the final lines retaining that sort of shaky, jagged look.

Since I went into this so suddenly though, I also don't have a strong concept behind it. I knew I wanted to make him darker, but my ideas were kind of all over the place and not fully developed.

Part of me wanted to make him look more skeletal, but I already did that with Dr. Nefarious and didn't want to repeat myself. Still, you can see remnants of the idea with the black around his eyes being the hollows of a skull, and him kinda having a rib cage form and skeletal neck.

Another part of me wanted to make him look more demonic, and I turned the red thing on his head more into horns. It also made him look somewhat more organic than technological.

The multiple sets of teeth aren't a random choice. I don't remember for sure since it's been a while since I watched ReBoot, but I looked at pictures and it looked like he already had multiple sets of teeth in his mouth. So I didn't really change that. I don't think so.

The markings on his body are supposed to be like the texture he already had on him, except kinda stylized. I implemented them too carelessly though (again, since I went into this not expecting to be able to finish it and rather was just playing with ideas). They ended up covering more area than I intended and also not looking how I intended. I also drew them too dark.

I tried to offset it by making the other lines even darker, and that's why the lines are bolder than I usually do. It wasn't enough by itself though, so I had to lighten those markings digitally. I guess it kinda looks like crazy scrawls or carving though, so maybe it works with the part-demon idea.

Speaking of carving, I had the idea to make the green design on his torso like carvings into his body. I made it glow like that's some sort of interior layer underneath.

I intended to draw his chair thing but I'm horrible with drawing objects. I didn't know how to draw the chair at an angle matching the pose I already drew for him, and it was even harder because he almost took up the whole page and I couldn't see much of the chair to judge if I was doing it right. So I just turned his chair into a throne of wreckage overlooking Megaframe.

I've been getting away from my lazy backgrounds of coloured automatic cloud filters, but I used it here since those cloud filters are like what they used in the show. So it was only fitting.
