Well everyone's done it for the past year, but now it's my turn, and this time it's my very first deviation ever, mainly of my avatar. First though, Don't confuse me for Sora!
That could be a huge conflict. Right?

My Hero and Me: My Greatest Adventure Ever (Fanfiction)
Bio: Eric is a boy who hails from St. George, Utah in the real world (Earth). A seemingly average boy until destiny takes him on an adventure through the wonders of the [gaming] universe. He sets off to save the universe after learning of his destiny and obtaining his magical Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts, and his magical dragon pendant containing shards of the universal crystals, giving him magical powers. He'll team up with his two best friends, The Cheat (Homestar Runner) & Kimahri Ronso (Final Fantasy X), to travel through the universe to destroy evil creatures, seal keyholes of each visited world, search for the 40 legendary Super Smash Bros., & team up with 8 other individuals to unite and defeat the ultimate evil. Can the new Keyblade master succeed in his mission? Only time will tell.

Who's Renton Thurston? Of course, this is my first official drawing so I was kind of expecting that. As I went on to practicing, I based it off of various illustrations off of the KH manga. I'm sure it's either the face, the hair, or the body, but I'm sure I can improve. If you want to see more of my upcoming works, you could put me on your watchlist if you want. Thanks.

At any rate, I wouldn't stick to references too much, Eric; they'll keep you from learning the proper way to make hairstyles of your own. I'm not saying don't use them, but don't rely to heavily on them.
Now, to answer your question:

Oh I get it, well a better idea than rummaging through those is "binge-browsing" here one DA. Try to find good anime/manga artists here and just go through their galleries studying their techniques. I do it with , , and because they have good disney-esque styles that are easy to learn from. ^^
