Description
This is an image from a short session I did with Stephanie earlier today...it was stupid bright and sunny in Halifax, but fortunately, by the coast, the fog turned the light into something wonderfully soft.IR converted Canon 5D MKII

I can see how strong the light was but it has worked well for you here as the skin/rock contrast is very effective...I like the way Stephanie is just emerging from her granite hideout..

Yes I am obsessed by fog, so much so that every time I make a town trip, which is 45km away, I leave home before six am so I can try to catch the morning fog..it sits on the old volcano cinder cones and turns a glowing pink at sunrise, but it is darned elusive..the only time I saw it really good was when Ididn't have the camera along.

Interesting ... i mean you say that it was "stupid bright and sunny" does it matters with Infrared Photography? What's the difference?

Sunlight doesn't really change things with IR or conventional cameras, it is just hard light to work with at 1pm in the summer - contrasty and top down is a recipe for frustration and disappointment...where fog is beautiful to work with!

Yes, i thought it was something like that (halftones help to give the impression of volume) but i used to believe that IR light followed its own rules.
Thanks!

this is very cleverly done...half-hidden and integrated with the shapes of the rocks...a real beauty..sometimes showing less is more attractive...bravo Eric as always

Thank you very much for your comment and feedback; I was really pleased with the image when I made it, for exactly the reason you mention (less is more, etc). I'm glad you enjoyed viewing the image!
