Pronounced (ATCH-you-leez)

When Hercules famously relieved Atlas from holding the sky for a time during his last labor, Atlas did a lot more than pick golden apples. He made rounds that resulted in his siring several more children including an invulnerable goddess daughter named Aeides. Aeides ultimately married Herakon, the first son of Hercules, a young man who inherited all of his father’s godly strength.

Aides and Herakon were both pestered by the elder gods to participate in various campaigns but they wished to be left alone to raise a family in peaceful solitude. An oracle warned the couple that any offspring they sired should not be involved with godly matters, as it might lead to the death of that offspring. Aeides and Herakon appealed to the Titan goddess Mnemosyne, who was moved by their deep love for one another, and agreed to make arrangements for their earthly presence to be forgotten. Once done, they carved a quiet life deep in the mountains of Sardinia.

Aeides soon became pregnant with a son who they decided to name by combining the names of Atlas and Hercules. In due course, Aeides gave birth to Atules. Managing to evade identification until he matured into a young man, knowledge of Atules eventually came to the attention of Hercules’ father, Zeus, who was enraged to discover he had a grandson he did not know about. He was rebuffed when he confronted Herakon and Aeides who had always feared that Atules’ involvement in the workings of the gods might result in his death. In a fit of resentment and anger, Zeus made arrangements for Chronos, the godly embodiment of time, to knock Atules from the timestream, which ultimately displaced him to the modern day.

Atules has a high degree of invulnerability and mega-human strength.
