Meet EMPULSE, Gina Callahan, from Dallas, Texas, who controls a full range of electromagnetic energies (radio waves, microwaves, terahertz radiation, infrared radiation, visible light, ultraviolet radiation, X-rays, gamma rays, etc.), hence the "EM" part of her nickname. She is extremely powerful and extremely dangerous as she cannot afford to slip and bathe her surroundings with any kind of dangerous radiation. She stores ambient radiation and can release it in focused blasts or wider dispersions. Her powers enable her to fly and she does not need to breathe but the changes have left her skin a fiery bright red and her hair pure white.

As she uses her powers, shimmering fluctuations of energy appear in the central portions of each part of her body, different colors manifest for different types of energy. She has tried containment suits but they result in severe discomfort for her. She has honed her powers to the extent that she can keep all radiation pulled in just beneath her skin for long periods of time, rendering her safe to be around people and normal in appearance, but periodically must release the buildup, generally done outside Earth's atmosphere.
