Oh hey, I actually got this colored and it only took a few hours, per night, for weeks... I did tweak a few things from the line art, which always seems to be necessary. [link]The desbrachians / wall fixture monsters are pretty tough, one time my brother came in on me playing the game and watched me fight and kill one and get the missile expansion behind it. "Dude, totally not worth it." - kind of inclined to agree, big pitched battle for one more missile? Sheesh.
The perspective is fairly off here, but I really wasn't going to redraw it. So I'll just try to be more careful about that stuff in the future.

THANK YOU! Art that makes the new Mother Brain look EVIL! Whatever sympathetic origins this new incarnations had, that final cutscene shows MB is now irrevocably EVIL.

Desbrachians are total beasts. What other enemies can be intimidating while sporting butterfly wings? (Though, granted, the fact that they're the hardest foes in the game helps...)
Overall, nice job! I like all of the details here and there, such as with the metroids.

You know, I'm not sure I really noticed the butterfly wings in the game itself. Bit too busy trying to keep Samus alive maybe, heh. Exploring the station after the main game, I did sometimes save before fighting one.
