Bit of a story to this one, one day walking along I caught something in my peripheral vision which generated the internal response of 'WHAT kind of bug is...oh, it's just a stick' - and later I thought I might try to design a creature based loosely on the broken bit of native flora. I think it was more a root, but it did have a somewhat buggy appearance for a split second.
So, I have a couple places where I could use this design. It could be an Edge of the World [link] alien monster, meteor site guardian, or something from the other dimension in that same series, or some kind of parasite on kaiju sort monsters.
Another idea I had is based on what inspired it, this thing could be like some kind of demon that either only exists in your peripheral vision, or constantly dwells there, so matter how you twist and turn you can't ever get a good look at it. However, none of my potential settings are really that kind of supernatural.
I figure its long legs are to help it get over rough terrain or simply to help lift itself up so it can use those giantly over-sized mandibles.
Oh, anyone think of a name? I'm open to suggestions
