What a complete surprise this morning (Dec. 14, 2007) when I find out this is a DD!! Not a bad way to finish up a pretty great week!

This is a great shot, was looking at your EXIF, 300mm....which lens did you use for this???

For this one I actually used an old macro zoom...which I don't even own anymore. I shoot all my macros now with regular lenses and extension tubes.

I have been giving thought about actually going that route.....what brand of tubes do ya have?

I actually use Kenko tubes. They meter correctly with my Nikon D100, and they allow the autofocus, which I rarely use with macro. PLUS, they are about a third the price of Nikon tubes.
That said, I would be careful, especially if mail ordering or ordering off eBay (which is where I bought mine). Sometimes it's hard to tell if you're getting exactly what you want.
But these tubes I've found do a quite suitable job for me...and they're a bit (LOT!!!) less expensive than macro lenses.

Congratulations again on the DD hun! That's so wonderful to hear, you must be so excited! And I'm surprised I'd overlooked this photo before so it's nice to have a chance to see it now! The vibrancy of this is what really makes it, in my opinion. It just really pops. Great work!
