LOL! It was a little bit of both. I spotted this character closer to me...he flew and landed there and that's when I grabbed the shot. It have a closer, color one of him, too, called "Inquisitive". Not sure why, but he allowed me to get close enough to fire off a half dozen frames while he was in a tree.

Great photo! The vertical bars bring the foreground directly into view while the background shadows add so much depth it's amazing to see it in a monochromatic work.
